Re: Export to Google Calendar (Ticket #48848)
If you look at the raw ics export from localendar, you will see that there are 2 fields related to description:
DESCRIPTION:
and
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html

DESCRIPTION contains a plain-text export of the event's description (no html) whereas X-ALT-DESC contains the full html export of the description (including hyperlinks, etc)

Not all iCal import apps, programs, plugins, etc. support HTML in the DESCRIPTION field, so to maintain maximum compatibility, we cannot put HTML there.

From icalendar.org:
First seen in Microsoft Outlook, the X-ALT-DESC parameter provides a method to add HTML to an event description. "X-" fields are allowed for non-standard, experimental parameters. This field has become the method of choice when including HTML in a description. When using HTML, both fields must be included so that iCalendar readers that do not support the X-ALT-DESC field can still read the text version

Google has presently chosen not to support X-ALT-DESC.
