How to edit an imported evnt Have been able to import using iCAL link but can't go back in and edit the event like I can with an event created from scratch. Any help would be appreciated. :) Rob |

Re: How to edit an imported evnt That is correct - you currently cannot imported events merged in from either an iCal URL or iCal file import, because if the event changed at the source and you updated the feed/file, your changes would be overwritten. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: How to edit an imported evnt Thanks for the update. Would the same issue exist if the content came from an iCal file rather than a link? If so, can Localendar import from a CSV file? Thanks! :) Rob |

Re: How to edit an imported evnt Yes - insomuch as we do not let you edit events imported from a file. Our reasoning is the same: We don't want members to change an event and then overwrite these changes if they upload a new file. It's a discussion we have had many times internally. At least a file upload won't update automatically (thus the case for allowing editing). But on the other hand, a re-import will still overwrite data, and we are not sure we can make members completely aware of this point and we don't want them to lose their work. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: How to edit an imported evnt Thanks Marc for the update. I can see your point about not wanting users to accidentally lose their data when they re-import, but then there is the 'clear calendar events' feature that is dangerous as well. Do you forsee the ability to batch import editable 'static' events from a CSV file just to make new calendar entry less time consuming? Thanks, Robert |

Re: How to edit an imported evnt I'm not sure I understand the question. We do support batch-imports via CSV, which you can edit. Is the question why do we not allow this for ics imports? ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: How to edit an imported evnt Thanks Marc, I finally figured out that using the 'Outlook import' allows for importing a CSV file, which is what I needed all along. It's always a challenge figuring out a new piece of software and its inferences. :) Robert |
