Can visitors to my calendar 'subscribe' to all events at once? Hello, is it possible for visitors to our calendar to be able to subscribe to our calendar so they can access them through their smart phone calendars, like you can with google calendar and yahoo calendar? If there are instructions for doing this can you please send me the link? I know that they can download into their phone calendar from inside each event, but I'm being told by some parents that they would prefer to just subscribe to our school calendar once and have everything as soon as we add an event, rather then them having to open each event and individually download each one. |

Re: Can visitors to my calendar 'subscribe' to all events at once? Yes, you would want to use the iCal export on your calendar. Visitors can subscribe to this from Google, Yahoo, etc and get a live feed of all the calendar events. Your iCal address is http://www.localendar.com/public/lgcs.ics Your members can also find this link on the small "ical" logo in the footer of your public calendar view. Google, et al will have directions on their site for importing an iCal feed. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Can visitors to my calendar 'subscribe' to all events at once? When I selected iCal from the public view, I was able to download all the events to my phone. But will future events that I create later automatically show up on my phone calendar? What about updates made to events that I've already downloaded to my calendar calendar, will those automatically sync to my phone as well? |

Re: Can visitors to my calendar 'subscribe' to all events at once? The answer is "it depends". Almost all calendar programs that import calendar data via a URL will automatically refresh the events. But how often they refresh the events is totally at the discretion of the program. For example, we refresh imported iCal events *every* time you refresh your calendar. Google Calendar, for example, does not - which you can read many complaints about on the web. I believe Outlook and iPhones will refresh instantly, or close to it. My advice would be to do a little testing (modify an event, then check your phone) just to double-check. Also, any changes you make to an event on localendar (or new events) are *immediately* reflected in our iCal export. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
