Problem with 'Allow Visitors to Add Calendar Events' feature I am using the 'Visitors may add Public events (immediately visible)' option on the 'Allow Visitors to Add Calendar Events' dropdown menu. I am also using the Sharing feature 'Allow access only by specific members (listed below)'. After a member logs on via the 'Member Sign-On' screen, when one clicks the 'Add Event' button on the calendar, one is taken to an 'Add Event' screen. After clicking 'Save' one is given a URL if one wants to Edit the event. Two problems occur when one get to the 'Edit Event' screen. 1. Although the 'Update' button works, the 'Cancel' button does not [either at the top or bottom of the screen]. Refreshing the screen does nothing. One must close the program to get out of this screen. I did not try the 'Delete' button for obvious reasons. 2. The members never fill in any information under the 'Location: (optional)' section of 'Add Event'. Yet I have noticed that frequently when the 'Edit Event' screen is opened, the word 'null' has been added by the program to the 'Information' and/or 'Street Address' line. Not only does this show on the Pop-Up window, but the 'null' in 'Street Address' is clickable, and if clicked on, will open a map somewhere in the US. Could you take a look at these two problems, and see how they can be fixed? Thanks, Harry |

Re: Problem with 'Allow Visitors to Add Calendar Events' feature Javascript no longer allows windows to be closed directly. This is a "browser security" feature; only a window that was opened with Javascript can be closed with Javascript, and your visitors are using the "return to edit" link to open the Edit window and not Javascript So we've had to remove that button in some cases; a user will have to manually close the window or tab. I could not get the "null" text to appear on the Event Editor despite several attempts, but we have added additional checks to hopefully eliminate any occurrences of this value. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Problem with 'Allow Visitors to Add Calendar Events' feature Marc: Thanks for the clarification and the checks on the 'null'. It did not happen for me every time I did an Edit, which made it confusing. >>So we've had to remove that button in some cases; a user will have to manually close the window or tab<< Perhaps the 'Cancel' button should be removed from this screen also, since I assume that screen can only be accessed using the 'return to edit' link. I have added it to my list of instructions for my users, who normally (as would I) would expect a 'Cancel' button to function, not knowing what is going on in the background. Harry |

Re: Problem with 'Allow Visitors to Add Calendar Events' feature I believe we did get rid of it (didn't we?) If we can determine that localendar opened the window however, we will still try and show close/cancel, since they should work correctly. If you have a link where they show/don't work, please let me know ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Between the time I queried, and your post, yes you did. Thanks a lot. Harry |
