Width of Clipart Library popup I use the Clipart Library almost every time I add a new Localendar entry. And it works so much better after you made a few changes that I requested about 4 years ago. Thanks for doing that. But I have a new request. The Clipart Library popup has a fixed width. The file names are on the left, and the images are on the right. If all one has are small images like icons, etc., there is no problem. But if one is uploading flyers or posters, you cannot see them. Go here: https://imgur.com/AR0t7KH The red arrow points to the upper left of one of the flyers I have in the library. If I want to see more of the flyer, you have a slider bar (green arrow). But when I move that bar to the right far enough so that I know what the image is, then the file name is off screen to the left. I assume that somewhere the width of this popup is set in your code. Is this something that I can change, and if so, where do I do it? Or can this screen be changed so that the height/width can be changed on the fly by the user, like is available in most Windows programs? Harry |

Re: Width of Clipart Library popup Let me make a counter-proposal that might keep the UI a little simpler. What if the clip-art images were restricted to a "max-width" and were scaled proportionally? We made a few changes to support better resizing, but I still think we might want to set a max size of the image (instead of always showing it actual size). Of course.. that might falsely make people think we would resize the image on the event. Let us know what you think ![]() ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Width of Clipart Library popup Marc:
That concept is fine with me. But I am concerned about the execution. I scale the Library popup window at 475 pixels. In the example on the screenshot I sent you, the image in question is about 825 pixels wide, but the space allotted to it is only 160 pixels. To fit in the current space would reduce the image to 25% of its size. For some that would be fine, but for images which are mainly text, it may not be clear what is actually being represented. If however you would place the file name ABOVE (or below) the image, instead of to the left of it, the image could be about 425 pixels wide, or in this example, a little over 50% of original size. P.S. Although about a year ago your 'Contact Us' support said they would look into why I never get notified even when I check 'Watch this thread', I still don't get notified. Harry |

Re: Width of Clipart Library popup Did you see my comment regarding:
Did you try resizing the window? Thoughts? (I'll need to re-examine your email notification issue) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Width of Clipart Library popup
Marc: I can't find anything that I can resize on the Clipart Library popup screen. The screen today looks just like the one that I linked you to in my initial post. I tried it in several different browsers today just to make sure there was not a quirk at my end. So if there is something that I can resize on that screen, then you need to give me more details on how to find it. Harry |

Re: Width of Clipart Library popup If you click "Add an image to this event" and then "My clipart library", the popup clipart window appears. In the past, the size of the image preview was fixed, even if you resized the window. Now, if you resize the window, the size of the preview stretches to fill the entire frame. So a large image is not clipped - basically the bigger you make the window, the more of the image you will see. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Width of Clipart Library popup Marc:
Thanks. Works great. I never tried it that way. No wonder I could not follow your previous directions. When writing/editing an entry, I always have gone to the Description: section, clicked on the Up arrow (Upload/manage your clipart library), and done everything from there. Perhaps you can help on another irritant. I log into My Calendar and add/modify entries. But if I need to then access these Forums and click on the Support Forums entry on the bottom left of the My Calendar page, I have to AGAIN login to access the forums. Why is that? Harry |

Re: Width of Clipart Library popup Heh..
Technically, you shouldn't have to.. we try to support single-sign-on across localendar and these forums. The underlying cause of the irritant is that we didn't write the forums software, it's based on an open-source product. Because of the terms of their license, if we fully integrated it into localendar, their "viral license" would compel us to open-source localendar's code, which we would prefer not to do ![]() That's why there is challenge getting 2 disparate tools to (safely) recognize the shared authentication status. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
