Is there a way to assign a color block tp General items?
I can assign a color to all items except general. When viewing the daily or weekly view a small color block appears beside each item, except General.

The link you posted is for a signed in calendar user. This is actually the public version of the link (what you meant to share ;))

You cannot change the colors for the default localendar categories (including General). However, you are free to create your own General category and give it a color.

To avoid confusion between *your* General category and the default localendar General category, I would suggest checking the box to "Hide default localendar categories when entering events" on the Custom Categories setup page.
