Share but limited Sorry to pepper you with so many questions- I have spent more than a day trying to set up what I need. I would like to set up a calendar so that: -I maintain control of the calendar -Only 5 others can add events, but cannot change settings on the calendar -Anyone can see and print the calendar, but not change or add anything The only way I can see doing this is to set up free satelite calendars for each of the 5 others, giving them permission to add events, to be approved to public by me, but not to give them the main calendar password. Since the main calendar is passworded and under my control, the public cannot access it. I would then set up one more calendar, without security, but with no 'Add' button, and merge it with the main calendar. Would this work? Is there an easier way? Is there a way to accomplish this without paying for two premium calendars? |

Re: Share but limited I think this is what I would do: I would give people 5 free calendars. They can change them and do whatever they want (it won't make a difference) I would create 1 master calendar with a Premium Basic subscription. This would allow me to merge in events from the 5 other calendars (and color-code them if you want) The only wrinkle is, you should know the id of the 5 "sub calendars" so that you can delete or change events. Re: Share but limited Thanks for the suggestion. Another downside is that I can't then use colors on the main calendar to indicate the category of an event, just to indicate which calendar it came from. I guess I could copy events while in their calendar and paste them to the main one. (Lot of work) Is there a way to color code which calendar an event came from, as it is now, but without having the key to the colors at the bottom of the main calendar? This is a problem when the public looks at it. My method wouldn't have worked anyway, as I found that the last calendar in the chain could not merge with the main calendar because it is protected. |
