Private/Public event viewing With your online calendar, is there a way to do the following (and if so, what is needed): The organization (paintball team) I am associated with is looking to add a calendar feature to our website. On this calendar we want to add events we are planning to attend. We want these events to be viewable by everyone (public) who wishes to look at them, but not edited by the public or have public people be able to add their own events Secondly we want to be able to add events that only certain people (team members) can see (private practices, private parties, ...). We want this group of people to also be the only group of people that add events or edit those already on the calendar. Is all this doable with your calendar?? What subscriptions and such are needed and by which people?? Thanks in advance. ---------------------------------------- Les Gardner |

Re: Private/Public event viewing Hmmm.. The easiest way might be to use 2 calendars. One for the public events (free), and a 2nd password-protected one for the private events (9.95/yr). You could also merge the public events calendar onto the Private events one, so the "private viewers" would also see the public events without having to check a second calendar. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

I am purchasing the webmaster version of this program - I will have to purchase an ADDITIONAL calendar to be able to have Public AND private events? |

Re: Private/Public event viewing No - any calendar (paid or not) can have public and private events. Only the calendar owner can sign in and see private events they have created. The previous person's question required a subscription because they wanted to create a password-protected means for *other* people besides the calendar owner to view "private" events. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Private/Public event viewing How can the calendar be set up so that team members can view the calendar, but not make changes? I want only certain members to make changes |

Re: Private/Public event viewing It depends.. if all your events are public, just give them the public calendar url: localendar.com/public/empirefire If you want to password protect it, you can do that with a webmaster subscription: http://localendar.com/docs/display/lc/Password-protecting+your+localendar ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
