Multiple Calendars Merged for Multiple Websites
I maintain several websites for clients. Some of the events are common among them, some are not. Before I sign up for a paid version of localendars, I want to make sure this will work for me.

Here's the question: Can I have multiple calendars on one account, merge them, then save them under each new clients name and embed them on each website.

I have read the other comments regarding merging, but it's still a little confusing. Do all of the features still apply to all calendars I'm using?

Thank you!

Re: Multiple Calendars Merged for Multiple Websites
Each localendar member logon is associated with a single account, and the Premium Basic and Premium Webmaster subscriptions are associated with one logon and therefor one calendar.

Merging is the process of "pulling in" the public events from 1 or more other calendars (which don't have to have premium subscriptions) onto your calendar. The calendar doing the merging does require at least a Premium Basic subscription.

All calendars, with premium subscriptions or not, can be included (embedded) into existing websites. The different is calendars with no subscription whatsoever will contain ads. (BTW, check out the new transition effects for published calendars at: http://www.localendar.com/lcf/lcforums/viewthread?thread=4324 )

Now let's talk about costs... Suppose you set up 5 calendars for different clients, and you wanted each of them to have all of the features of a basic subscription (like no ads). That would require 5 Basic subscriptions @ 9.95/yr (~$50/year).

Or perhaps you want them all to have the features of Premium Webmaster. That would be 5 * $29.95/yr (~$150/yr).

But there is a cheaper option. We have a feature called Cobranding (which is free: http://www.localendar.com/calendar/cobranding ) that allows you to create a single control account and then an unlimited number of sub-accounts underneath it. Your control account at localendar.com remains BarbSmith, but to create your sub-accounts you go to http://www.localendar.com/cobrand/BarbSmith.

The Premium Cobrander Deluxe subscription ($129.95/yr) gives the BarbSmith calendar and all of the calendars you create underneath it at the /cobrand/BarbSmith page all of the features of the $29.95 package. So as soon as you want more than 4 calendars with these features, it makes sense to go this route. The cobranded calendars are *exactly* like regular calendars, but we have this mechanism in place to let members include localendar's functionality on their own sites. Webmasters of multiple sites like yourself can also use it to create/manage multiple calendars under a single member logon.

I hope that helps! Cobranding is sometimes a little confusing at first, but it's really a very powerful feature.

Re: Multiple Calendars Merged for Multiple Websites
Thank you for the fast and THOROUGH response. I think I get it.
I signed up for the Basic Cobrand to try and get the hang of it, but it will not let me sign in. It says my ID or password is not correct, but those are the only ones I've used to sign up. Help?

Re: Multiple Calendars Merged for Multiple Websites
Sure. Keep in mind that for the BarbSmith account (what we call the Cobranding Control Account or Master Account sometimes), you will still sign in from the regular localendar.com homepage at http://www.localendar.com

However, to create sub-accounts (and to sign into them afterwards) you will use http://www.localendar.com/cobrand/barbsmith

Please let me know if you still have any trouble.

Re: Multiple Calendars Merged for Multiple Websites
I did that, but when I tried to get into the...cobrand/barbsmith link, it would not accept my id and/or password. Aren't they the same ones I use to get into the Master account?

Re: Multiple Calendars Merged for Multiple Websites
As the Cobranding account owner, you will always log into localendar.com at the main site; you will not be able to log into the /cobrand address with your "master" account credentials.

You only go to /cobrand to create and access the "sub accounts" that are *underneath* your master account. These are full-functional localendar accounts, but they are automatically associated with your master account.

so to recap:
BarbSmith account only works from http://www.localendar.com

Go to http://www.localendar.com/cobrand/BarbSmith only to create/access sub-calendars

A Premium Cobrander Deluxe subscription will give the BarbSmith account, and all accounts created at /cobrand/BarbSmith their own Premium Webmaster subscriptions
