confused   Public Add New Event
I have the option enabled for public users to add events to my calendar embeded within my website. When a user goes to add an event, the popup appears. However, the following sections are displayed which requires the user to login.

- Add an image to this event
- This event repeats
- Set a reminder

This is very confusing for the user, and I do not want them to create their own accounts. Is there a way to disable these options when adding an event from the public calendar, or can the security for these activities be disabled?

Re: Public Add New Event
Strange... there's no logon requirement to expand/collapse those sections. Just checked again anyway.

Can I ask what browser/version you're using? Have you tried from any other computers?

Re: Public Add New Event
I tested this on

Mac OS X:
Safari 1.3
Netsacpe 7.2
Firefox 1.0.4

PC:
Firefox 1.0.4
Netscape 7.2
IE 6.0.2

The only bowser that doesn't require authentication is on a PC, IE 6.0.2

All other broswers require authentication, and gives a security message that the information entered is about to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party.

I am still in the trial period of this premium feature. Does this have anything to do with the problem? I am waiting for this issue to be resolved until I subscribe, since public event adding is the main reason I would subscribe to the service.

please let me know if you need any more information.

Is this what you mrean by authentication? This message has to do with browser security settings; nothing on the localendar side. I thought you meant you were getting the localendar logon screen.

We've tested on the browsers you mention, and the feature works normally on them all. Could you please clarify further about "authentication"?

Re: Public Add New Event
The user is taken to the login screen (localendar.com homepage) inside the popup window, after they select one of the three options:

Add an image to this event
This event repeats
Set a reminder

Depending on the browser, sometimes they get the javascript message prior to the login screen loading.

be sure that you are not logged in as any calendar adminstrator when testing.

Re: Public Add New Event
AH - I think we finally figured out why this was occurring. Please check it now and it should be OK.
