Sharing options I allow people to add events to the calender, however, everytime they want a event removed I have to remove it using my admistrator account. Is there a way they can remove an event they mistakingly put in, without getting me invovled? |

Re: Sharing options Alas no - b/c there is no way for us to know who put in a particular event (why we call this feature "Anonymous Event Addition". It might be a "Wish List" worthy message to request this. Re: Sharing options Actually - in this regard, what would be really nice is if users had to have an account to post a new event to the calendar and the event notated who had added the event. And pehaps, rather than approving particular events, if I could approve a user and subsequently all events posted by that person. Then, all users could edit only their own events - except of course for admin, who could edit all and delete users as needed. That would be great. Re: Sharing options A similar approach (which gives you a little less admin authority) is to use merging. That seems like an excellent solution, however, the part of your product that I love is that I can put it on my website and the users can take care of populating it and I can be a happliy neglegent webmisstress. If it included a way to approve users and let them edit their own entries, I'd happily pay the $30 a year. However, with the current options and features, I beleive I will hand out the user name/password to a select number of users and let them be in charge. Re: Sharing options You can still do that with the merged calendar. You will still post your calendar on your site, but the difference is you will have set it up to also include the merged calendar(s) of others. They maintain their calendars; the events are automagically merged into yours and they appear on your site. *can you explain if this is really done automatically or if the admin will have to press the merge button every time? I am trying to coordinate a volunteer calendar for a large amount of people that will all be in charge of their own schedule but everyone else needs to know who is working on what. I imagine there will be changes by the hour that I can't possibly stay on top of unless it is done automatically. |
