Multiple Calendar Question I have been trying out localender for a few weeks now and really like it. I will probably go with at least the minimal paid package for the single web site I am currently using it on. However, I have a question about multiple calendars. Your FAQ states: "You can create as many calendars as you want. You just need to create a different Sign-On for each one." First, does this mean that for every calendar I create, I must sign up with a different email address? Second, does it make any difference (sign-up wise or cost-wise) if I want to use multiple calendars on the same site? Here's an example of what I have in mind: Say I create a site, DogObedienceShows.com (not a real site of mine, just an example!). On that site, I want to have separate pages for each state in the U.S. Each of those state pages would have an embedded calendar displaying just the dog show events taking place in that state. Maybe I would set it up as subdomains, e.g., Alabama.DogObedienceShows.com, Alaska.DogObedienceShows.com, etc. In this case, would I need to sign up separately (with different email addresses) for each of those 50 different calendars? And, if I opted to buy a paid package, would I need to buy one separately for each individual calendar? Using the lowest-cost option, that would be about $500 a year to cover all 50 calendars! This would actually be OK, though, if I can make a commercial success of the site -- it would be a business expense. But I just need to know if I'm understanding the multiple calendar thing correctly. |

Re: Multiple Calendar Question Please see my answers below in bold I have been trying out localender for a few weeks now and really like it. I will probably go with at least the minimal paid package for the single web site I am currently using it on. Cool! However, I have a question about multiple calendars. Your FAQ states: "You can create as many calendars as you want. You just need to create a different Sign-On for each one." First, does this mean that for every calendar I create, I must sign up with a different email address? No; you can use the same email address. We just ask that you choose a unique localendar sign-on name Second, does it make any difference (sign-up wise or cost-wise) if I want to use multiple calendars on the same site? Here's an example of what I have in mind: possibly... Say I create a site, DogObedienceShows.com (not a real site of mine, just an example!). Yes, if you wanted 50 unique calendars, that would be 50 logins. For a large request like that you could send us your basic info and the login names and we could process that as a batch for you (use the Contact us form) And, if I opted to buy a paid package, would I need to buy one separately for each individual calendar? Using the lowest-cost option, that would be about $500 a year to cover all 50 calendars! This would actually be OK, though, if I can make a commercial success of the site -- it would be a business expense. But I just need to know if I'm understanding the multiple calendar thing correctly. In this case, I would recommend activating "Free Basic Cobranding" for a single, master account (more info here: http://www.localendar.com/calendar/cobranding). Then, purchasing a Premium Cobrander Deluxe subscription. For $129.95, that lets you create an *unlimited* number of calendars, each of which has all of the features of a Premium Webmaster subscription. So it's $129, instead of $500 (Premium Basic) or $1500 (Premium Webmaster) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Multiple Calendar Question Thank you for your response. You've answered my questions, and I understand the options now. The co-branding things sounds like the way to go if I do such a large calendar project as I am thinking about. I will read up on it. Thanks again! Steve |
