Email alertsHow many email addresses can you put in the alert box on an event? I would like to put maybe 10 to 12 emails addresses in a meeting event. What is the syntax? Is it the same as the Outlookd syntax? ---------------------------------------- M J Dulle |

Re: Email alerts You use regular email syntax (name@server.com) and separate them with a comma. You can fit about 5-7 emails into each box (Email1 and Email2) on the event editor. If you want to make it more flexible, I would suggest creating a group (say at groups.yahoo.com) which has 1 address you can use on the events. Then you can manage group membership (and who gets the reminders) separately. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Email alerts GoC-TwinCities:
There have been some improvements since Marc's 2011 Email. The Reminder defaults on the Options->General page now hold 400 characters each, so you can fit multiple Email addresses in both lists. And I do not believe that any certain Email addresses need to be added, at least to Google Groups. Marc would know this better than I. Also, the recommendation now is Google groups (which I use) rather than Yahoo groups. See this thread: http://localendar.com/lcf/lcforums/viewthread?thread=1181#4344 And finally, if you want your reminders sent out as soon as an event is published, rather than a preset time in advance of the meeting/event, you can, on the Options->Security page, make Google groups the Email address. There are some potential security issues with this. This whole topic of automatically sending Emails as soon as Events are set up is discussed here: http://localendar.com/lcf/lcforums/viewthread?thread=13021&offset=0 Harry |
