Localendar on Malware Domain List - producing security warnings
Hello,

I am the webmaster for a site and we use the paid version of Lo Calendar. It's been a great service and the website owner can update her own calendar and not have to get me to do it...saving them money and me not having to do small calendar updates every week.

Today we got an email from a website user when trying to view the page:

http://www.johnrogerson.com/diary.html

that their security software (not sure which type) was giving them a warning that the site was unsecured and may contain malware. I did a google search and found this page:

http://www.siteadvisor.at/sites/localendar.com/msgpage

that says it is SAFE but lists a review at the end stating that:

"IMPORTANT! localendar.com is listed on malwaredomainlist as potentially dangerous. Please be careful. Exploit/Trojan horse"

Indeed, I checked and localendar is listed on the malware domain list.

We love the localendar service but I need to know that it is safe and free of malware for people accessing this website to use it. I wonder what the reason is for localendar being on the malware domain list? Is it because the free version has ads?

Has anyone else run into this?

Re: Localendar on Malware Domain List - producing security warnings
As you point out, McAfee says localendar is safe. Someone posted that comment at the end.

What they are referring to is a particular calendar where the owner included HTML to redirect to another site.

We try and catch these, but since we give users the power to enter their own HTML, they can do this on their personal calendars. No one can add content to your calendar without your approval.

The particular calendar mentioned was removed in 2009 (the comment was posted in 2010). Perhaps malwaredomainlist will update their records in the future.
