I've been playing around with the import. At the time I sent the link, I only had one event entered. Since I posted that, I got the location field to accept my Google-map link which helps a lot (street address is not importable, so I ignore it). Now my spreadsheet can automatically assign the proper address and map-link to each event. The last thing I really could use is the category field import. Just that one field would make all of the difference.

For example, I need to import 84 events.

If a team only wants to see their events, I need to actually import 168 events (all of the TeamA vs. TeamB events x 2) and assign half of them to a category for the one team and the other half of them to a category for the opposing team. From as master view, there would be two entries for the same event, but actually the category would differentiate them.

168 manual category assignments will take a long time. Being able to import the data long with the category would make it so much easier because the category would be derived in the spreadsheet beforehand very easily.

You can take a look at the same link to see the calendar event I've been playing around with. I'll also post my spreadsheet a bit later.

Of course, street address, background color, graphic, etc. would all be useful as well in a CSV import, but category is the one thing which is causing me the most work, since I've implemented work-arounds for everything else.

I've used the color of the text to show the division (RED DIVISION) in this example, although having the ability to upload the background color would be awesome as well.....but actually since the category has a default color and the events will be categorized, the background color will automatically be set when the category is assigned.
