Re: Delegate Amin to other users I realize I never understood what you are asking for here. Are you asking that for a visitor-added event (where it gives you the url to come back and edit it later) that you would like a Save As button? I don't understand where you imagine there being an "Edit" button. There is no "Edit" button on localendar anywhere today. If you click on an event from the public view, you get the event details. If you click on it when signed in (assuming it doesn't come from iCal, etc) then you get the Editor. Where were you thinking an Edit button would be useful? ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Delegate Amin to other users Marc: I know this is a long thread, and it has taken some twists and turns. Even I was somewhat confused! So below, I have copied what I think are the key items from previous posts, and added notes in bold as appropriate. To more clearly understand, open this file first: http://www.ottawapark.org/reference/images/Localendar_EditOptionE.jpg xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ME: I was thinking that on the 'Allow Visitors to Add Calendar Events' options on the Options General Page, there would be another option that Visitors may add AND EDIT Public Events. See image #1 (top one) Another solution is to incorporate this feature in the "Sharing' option, and restrict it. That way only members who are on that list can access the calendar in the first place. So my thought is to have not only 'View' permission, but also 'Edit' permission as an option for each member added. Then the Calendar Owner could decide who has the "Edit' permission. I think that would minimize any malicious modifications. See image #2 In either case, then an "Edit' button would be placed next to the current 'Add' button. That 'Edit button would just take one to the 'Edit Event' page as a stand alone page, just like the 'Add Event' is a stand alone page. See image #3 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx YOU: If we put an Edit Event button next to Add Event, how would localendar know which event you want to edit when you clicked on it? Of course, clicking on an event on the public view is the logical way to see the event details.. Would you want to see a small "edit" icon on the event somehow that opened it for editing? I think we could implement this as an option xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ME: That would be a wonderful option--better than my solution above Would you plan that the owner could select which events were eligible for editing? In amy case, I would like the screen that opens once the button is pushed to include both 'Edit' and 'Save As'. That would make it much easier for my users to set up events, since I have created template entries for folks to type in a few words, check some boxes, set the correct date/time, and click 'Save As'. See image #4 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx YOU: I realize I never understood what you are asking for here. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ME: I can understand! Hope this summary and the images help. Harry |

Re: Delegate Amin to other users Marc:
Now that it appears you are back to solving more 'normal' problems, as opposed to only 'super critical' ones, don't forget about this open issue that you were going to study. Harry |
