Calendar issues
Hey folks,

We are working on this issue. I'm probably going to delete a bunch of the duplicate messages scattered across the forums b/c its creating a lot of noise. I will post updates to this thread only.

Re: Calendar issues
The dynamic and static embedded calendars should be working again.

Here is the post mortem:

On Monday, we received a support email from a user who identified a potential XSS (Cross Site Scripting) vulnerability in localendar. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-site_scripting)

We verified the bug and immediately set to work to address it. Unfortunately, a bug in our bug-fix broke a large number of the dynamically embedded calendars. We have corrected this mistake. The outage was not caused by the XSS vulnerability, but by a mistake in our fix.

Our records show the bug was pushed out yesterday at 12:38AM GMT. What we cannot reconcile is the fact that some users reported an outage on Monday night. Our logs also indicated a dip in user activity yesterday which also corresponds with this timing. We are still checking to see why some users may have experienced a problem earlier.

Thanks. Mine seems to be fixed as well. (www.aretedancecenter.com) And mine was one of the early reported ones I think.

Re: Calendar issues
Hello,

There is actually still a problem as a result of this. The formatting of my calendar is wrong, even though it was correct before this happened.
The month title and Jan - Dec is not centered even though it used to be, and does show up that way on the preview when I go to export it. You can see it here:

Best,
Lerey

Re: Calendar issues
At this point I would be happy even if the formatting was a bit off for a time being. I can NOT get anything to appear.

Totally miffed when others report they have theirs back up.

Re: Calendar issues
If you're still having an issue w/ calendar display, it's not related to the initial outage. If you include a link to the site where your calendar is published, we will look into the problem.

Re: Calendar issues
The problem you are having with the title centering is because of global CSS that is present on your site (not related to the outage)

Your wordpress theme has the following code in style.css, line 63
caption, th, td {
font-weight: normal;
text-align: left;
}

which is forcing left-justification indiscriminately on all table cells.

My calendar is still not working. When I click on the link it's just blank and will not go to my calendar. I can go to it in edit form and see it but my customers(for my business) cannot see the calendar any more :( What should I do? We have gotten tons of emails with angry customers :(

This should say 'mine are all still down'. After I read the thread properly I realised that they are old posts. All my calendars disappeared overnight last night and need some help from you guys. Thanks.

Good luck, last time my calendars went up the wall it was 5 days before anybody responded, it is so frustrating that you dont even get a 'we are working on it message' from anybody!! Both my calendars disappeared overnight and I am stuffed without them angry

Re: Calendar issues
All calendars should be operational now.
The outage effected calendars with at least 3 custom categories or at least 3 merged calendars *and* calendars that used a dynamic include style (obviously a very special case but it still affects a percentage of our members)

The issue was caused by 2 enhancements related to
1) allowing visitors to select/de-select all categories at once
2) allowing the category and/or merged calendar selection to be saved, even when the user switches to a different month

To restore uptime, we have rolled out a fix even though the functionality described above it still incomplete for dynamically included calendars or calendars with a custom transition style.
