Improve 'Merge Ical Calendars' feature for Facebook
Hi, just wondering if you could look at the way Facebook events display in Localendar when merged at http://www.localendar.com/cal?JSP=CalendariCal.

The problem is the Google map link in Localendar often doesn't work, even if the Facebook (Bing) one does for the same event. The Localendar google map seems to need the full address, whereas the Facebook location field is often just the venue name, with the address details available in a different field. Also, if the Facebook name location doesn't match that in Google maps, it can't find it (e.g. 'YMCA International Community Centre' in Facebook, 'International Community Centre' in Google Maps. Both the same venue in Nottingham, UK). You either get a 'Can't find that location' message, or even worse, a map of a central point in the town that is nowhere near the venue.

Maybe the full address data could be obtained from the Facebook event, or even the map co-ordinates, to pass to the Localendar Google map.

Many thanks.

Alas, the problem is a little more complicated/annoying than that.
Google's public Maps and their API (which we use) work a little differently. You would assume they would both be using the same code underneath.

But the "public" Google maps seem to be able to resolve more addresses than the functionality exposed on their API.

Ultimately though, we're also constrained by whatever Facebook is feeding in the location field. If you can give me a sample url you're importing into your calendar (and the title of an example event), I'd be happy to take a look and see if we can come up with any ideas.
