User deleting name
I'm trying to set up a scheduling calendar that our members can access and put in their names. They may schedule several days at a time over a few months. Many are not that computer literate and your calendar makes the member remember a login string for each day they schedule. If they can't make a scheduled day and are not to savvy they probably will forget the login string and not be able to remove their name from that day. Is there a work around?

Re: User deleting name
I am inferring that your members are using the Add Event button at the bottom of your calendar, and adding events that way? Therefore, for each event they add, they have to remember the unique URL to get back to it if they want to edit/delete it... (let me know if I guessed wrong)

I would suggest doing this a little differently. Have each member create their own unique calendar at locaendar.com (this way, they only need to remember their ID and pw, and they can even click "remember me")

You can merge all of their calendars onto your calendar, and display that on your site.

More details are in our docs:

Re: User deleting name
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this will not work since each member needs to see if a particular day is filled with a volunteer or is available. Only one volunteer is needed each day and they sign up for multiple days and a few months ahead. However down the road they may need to change a day or simply cannot make it so I need the ability for them to remove their name. Most are not going to remember the long login string especially if they have several entries. I could give them administrator access but I don't want anyone messing with the settings after it is all set up.

Re: User deleting name
I don't think I can offer another solution at this time.. All I can suggest again is that with "merging", they could check the master calendar first, and then go to their personal calendars to make changes when necessary.

Your problem does overlap with another member's request (OPWebmaster, I'm looking at you) to essentially have the calendar work as an "open" resource.

Of course, where this might be heading is having no security on the calendar, so there is a potential that people could edit/delete events that don't belong to them.
