Very productive meeting, thank you all for attending! Many things to get out there so here we go: biggrin

HACK New Year's Eve Party:

Kennywood/Silo. Annual event for HACK members and their friends only. No animals, children or minors are invited. THIS IS A PRIVATE PARTY. You are responsible for anyone you invite and their behavior. talk to the hand PLEASE DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE, have a designated driver! Bring everything you need to have a good time and enough to share. Signs will be posted, "enter at your own risk". Neither HACK or Ken Crimmins is responsible for your health or well being while you are on this property at this party on this evening/morning. kiss

Very exciting news and an extra special added event! Jake Goldstein (The Von Tiki) and Amy Dinn (Houston Roller Derby) will be getting married between 11 and 1130p. love struck Reverend Bryan Taylor will be performing the wedding. Thank you for inviting us to witness your nuptials! What a huge honor! As an added bonus, they will be helping out with some extra things to make the party even better - more and larger porta cans, tables and chairs in the food room, extra money here and there to help out with the evening as we will have HPD security on site and that is a new and added expense. money eyes

New this year: When you park your car if someone asks you for money, $5 to park, please give it to them. This encourages good relations between the Art Car Community and the neighbors that live around the Silo/Kennywood. wink

No propane bursts of fire before midnight over the height of the wall - no "booms" with your propane, if it booms when you fire it, DON'T FIRE IT BEFORE MIDNIGHT. Propane burning on art cars is fine, but be prepared to extinguish the flame if the Fire Marshal shows up. d oh Tiki torches for mosquitos, burn barrels to roast hot dogs or sausages and for warmth are ok.

Our regular activities will still happen at and after midnight. No loud noises that bring officials that close our private party down and make for a bummer of an evening. crying

Band/music for the evening: Caz is arranging the music. applause HACK provides some beer/wine and plenty of non-alcoholic beverages for the band. I NEED A VOLUNTEER FOR THIS DUTY PLEASE!!!! praying Let me know asap if you will provide the ice chests, buy and fill them with ice and the beverages, deliver them to the stage area right before the party and then take care of retrieving your cooler(s) later. HACK will reimburse you. I will tell you the dollar amount once you tell me that you've taken on this VERY important task! The only payment the band receives is these beverages so this is a big job, and HACK thanks whoever does this tremendously! Thank you Caz for taking on the responsibility of coordinating the evening's music. dancing

Food room: There will be a food room again this year with tables and chairs provided by Jake and Amy. Bring something yummy for everyone to munch on. There will be enough lighting in that room per Ken Crimmins and we will be paying extra to have it cleaned out before the event, before the chairs and tables are delivered. Bring all your food in DISPOSABLE containers, no crock pots, everything should be able to be thrown away at the end of the event. Bring paper towels and napkins if your contribution requires use of them. Bring a centerpiece for the tables, preferably something that lights up!

Thank you Ken Crimmins for the use of your awesome space. applause As usual we give him some money to help with the clean up of the space the next day but don't actually rent the space. It's his private property for our private party. Please use the trash receptacles! batting eyelashes

Thank you Terry Brooks for providing lighting in our porta cans this year. applause

Please do not promise anyone any money from HACK for providing any entertainment without clearing it with our Treasurer, me. talk to the hand If you promise it, and the Klub can't deliver, you will be paying out of your own pocket. shock

If you want to camp out over night, you need to move your car in after everyone leaves. Do not leave it outside the Silo/Kennywood. thinking

Dale Gerber and Jake Goldstein - please contact each other about Twinkie tossing.

Terry and Marilyn Brooks' limo will be escorting Jake and Amy's families from their hotels to the event and back. applause Terry is looking for an experienced driver to drive his 28 foot long limo, that will also be a designated driver, and Jake and Amy will pay this driver. If interested please contact Terry at t4brooks@sbcglobal.net

Now, let's discuss some Santa events coming up.
If you are already on the Rowdy Santa email list, good. If you are not and would like to be, please email santaclauscar@yahoo.com to get on it. That is where all info about events will be sent to. All Santa Rampage events will be on the HACK calendar by a vote, so you won't receive Santa emails if you are on the HACK list, but you will get Santa reminders from the calendar – just delete them as they will not apply to you. Thank you for your understanding.

December 6, 11a-6p – Mistletoe Madness in the Heights. Heights First Saturday comes with an annual event every December where “performers” are sent to designated locations to sing. They are then given Mistletoe Bucks. The performers with the most Mistletoe Bucks at 6pm, turned into the sponsor, Karen Derr, wins either 1st or 2nd place. We will be meeting at 11am that morning, in full Santa attire at our first stop, where we will all park then crawl into Terry Brooks' limo, Kenny Browning's Iron Maiden Boat or Bryan Taylor's Santa Car. Then the fun begins. This event goes till 6pm. You must be early as something special will be taking place from 11a-noon that day and, as Santa, you will be part of it.

December 6 - 6pm, Santa Con Houston – go to yahoo groups to join their group – will be caroling thru midtown that night. This is an entirely different group of Santas that have been doing exactly the same thing we've been doing for the last 7 of our 12 years of Rampaging Houston. Pretty funny we've never run into them! They have invited us to their gig, and they are invited to ours of course. In yahoo groups, we are Santa Rampage, they are Santa Con Houston. Consider signing up for both so you're in the loop with both sets.

December 7 – 1pm-6pm, Discovery Green. Someone needs to bring a boom box and the music for the Chicken Dance (Brave Combo does this well), the Hokey Pokey, and any and all other silly dances you can think of. Eric Kolflat and Brock Alman have graciously offered to video our silliness. We'll sing our songs too, it really is time they were shared with the world via youtube.

December7, 7pm – meet at Warrens for drink and song, then saunter over to Market Square for our annual reenactment of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

December 7, 9pm – we're riding the Rail. Santas will all load on, then get off in small groups, then file back on the next one, where that will be video'd - like who the heck are you and you and more and more and more get one and what the hell? There is mention of some naughtiness as well. Details will be covered before and after the Pearl Harbor Reenactment.

December 13 – Annual Lights in the Heights – Santas meet up at Woodland and Watson after 6pm when LITH starts. Event runs 6-10p. You won't be able to park in this area, as you know, because the streets will be blocked off. This is our drop off area for coolers and the meeting place where we'll hang out and be, well, us.

Usual HACK updates:

2 Happy Hours per week so no reason to ever be unhappy on Weds or Thursdays. laughing Wednesdays is at Dark Horse, Thursday at The Star Bar. You get weekly reminders from the calendar about these.

Please put your events on the HACK calendar. If you, or someone you know, is looking for art cars at their event(s), please encourage them to request via the website and to also put their event on our calendar (limited to 2000 characters and spaces). biggrin

World Art Car Day was entirely a success because you all rock! applause I sent out my thank you email already so I won't be redundant here. Thank you all for playing – and I sure hope to see that Illuminated Cruise Route again! praying

That's if for now. As things come up I'll forward them to you.
:)
