OFFICIAL MINUTES FROM HACK MEETING Sunday, 17 September 2006 PRESIDING: Nicole Strine, HACK President & Treasurer LOCATION: Dark Horse Tavern General information: RE the HACK! website: It was voted that Mike will purchase a (an inexpensive) program to coordinate events on the calendar more efficiently and one that will also send out reminders of events one week in advance. If anyone has an event they need on the calendar or if anyone you know wants to know WHO to contact about getting art cars to their events, please USE THE WEBSITE. On the home page is a link for anyone to request art cars at their event(s). Please don't ask them to contact me or Bryan. The request portion works, so please use it!! Once the reminder is set up, you'll be getting those one week in advance. It will be a short while for our web guy to set it up since he's in school and working full time. But please, USE THE LINK ON THE SITE and encourage those people you know that need events to also link thru the site and not thru us cuz the site will be much more reliable. Re the Treasury: We have $311. It was voted that there will be more lunch money at Trader's Village since we have the extra money. :) Re Trader's Village, Sunday, October 8: Arrive at 930, leave at 430p. www.tradersvillage.com ; BRYAN WE NEED YOU TO BEG AND GROVEL HERE, I'm no good at it! This is what funds our events all year and there is not a big sign up for this event so far. PLEASE send me your name, the number of vehicles you'll be bringing and let me know if you need a table. Bring everything you need to hang out all day. This is a great event, it's the only one we get to sit and visit with each other for any length of time. You can also sell your stuff there too! If you have more than one vehicle and need help transporting it, please let me know and I will send out a request for drivers. Re Austin Art Car - October20-21: www.austinartcar.com We will be leaving/caravanning on Friday morning for those of you who can make it. Exact details to be announced. We will stop at the State School in Brenham and there will be a lunch stop too. See their site for more details. The VIP party on Friday not is not on 6th Street. The Parade route is .6 miles and the after party will have bands. This is always such a blast! The Rolling Stones are in town that Saturday so get your rooms ASAP. I have an email in to them about accommodations, but right now there are still rooms available in town. Re World Art Car Day Houston - Saturday, November 11: This year's theme is: Art Cars, the Pink Flamingo of the American Driveway. Thank you Dennis Dillow for this awesome phrase! Please feel free to display a pink flamingo on your car antenna, dash, person, etc. Thank you Dave and Gina for that idea! Breakfast at Denny's. One free breakfast OF THEIR CHOICE per art car. Children's art car making workshop at Art Car Museum to follow - exact hours tba. Afternoon Processional - exact hours tba Evening Illuminated Cruise - leaves from ACMuseum 8pm'ish. Re WACD T-shirts per Visker - THERE WILL BE NO EXTRAS PRINTED, ONLY WHAT IS ORDERED, SO MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU WANT SOME, YOU ORDER BEFORE THE DEADLINE!!!: Ok... Here is the final for the back of the shirts. There will be a small design on the front as last year, but I am still working on it. Shirt cost is $15. Any size above XL add $2 to the price. October 20th is the deadline to purchase shirts. Girl Ts are available, the image attached will be on the front of those. The shirts will be a plum color (similar to the graphic) with off-white & black ink. If individuals would like their shirt mailed to them they can add an extra $5 (per shirt) and their address and I will send the shirt via priority mail. Cash collection has started immediately. You can pay for your shirt by one of the following methods... After WACD we'll concentrate more on the bands, plans, etc. But it's going to be at Kennywood again!
