OFFICIAL MINUTES FROM HACK MEETING

Sunday, 19 November 2006

PRESIDING: Nicole Strine, HACK President & Treasurer
LOCATION: Dark Horse Tavern

Re our annual New Year's Eve celebration:
Place: Kennywood, specific address will be on HACK! website calendar for Dec 31, near intersection of Clinton and Waco. Start time is 7pm.
There will be a food court that will be fabulously decorated by our own Gina and Dave. This is a pot luck eatery. Please label your food so everyone will know what it is! There will be NO deviled egg competition per Bryan, altho he is very grateful that the offers were there.... he said after about 7 halves, he wouldn't be pleasant company. ;)

The John Schroeder Memorial Lanes will be open for your bowling entertainment. TV's need to be saved and Bryan has offered up Randy Sherer to gather them and take them to the "Lanes". His current email address will be in the HACK! website calendar information for Dec 31.

Music is being handled by Caz and as soon as I have the confirmation I will forward who will be playing. If it's who was discussed at the meeting, our ears will be SO happy!! Very exciting! :) No DJ this year... unless we find ourselves in a crunch. There were many requests via email to me not to have the same music we had last year. And there was some agreement at the meeting about this.

Ken Crimmins has a new generator that will power all the lighting we will need. Please gather all the discarded, old, unused, thrown out Christmas lights that you can get your hands on and take them to Kennywood on preparation day, Saturday, Dec 30.

PREPARATION DAY IS DEC 30, SATURDAY, and when he forwards more info to me about set-up, I will forward it to you.
We had a specific request for FIRECRACKER HATS, esp Dancin' Dave's popcorn firecracker hat. There were 2nd's and 3rd's on that request!!! Firecracker hats and all who don them ROCK!!
Ken asks that if we have another puppet show that we have fire extinguishers more handy than last year - Natali and Drew, you have another performance in mind??

Don't forget, OV's (ordinary vehicles) park outside, art cars, preferably with lights, inside!
It was decided that there are no requests for restriction of ages, in other words, it doesn't matter whether you bring your youngins, just realize the behavior they might witness. It was requested that there be no under age drinking (teenage drinking) - of course.
Don't forget to bring your chairs.

As usual for this event, BYOE: YOU BRING EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR NEW YEAR'S EVE CELEBRATION ONE THAT YOU WILL REMEMBER FOR YEARS TO COME!! HACK! will not provide any alcohol for this event.

Same as last year, unless I am told differently, camping will be allowed.
Fire spinning is requested and anyone with a connection to any fire spinners, please send out the welcome to come and entertain.

Our budget for this event will be spent on portacans, live music and a stipend to Kenny for the use and clean up of Kennywood.

Re Lights in the Heights:
Dana Loudon came out to our meeting to request cars for their parade and to park along the streets within the event at SPECIFIC locations. I am waiting for more info from her. If you would like to be in the LITH Parade this year, please contact here asap at lithentertainment@msn.com or her cell at 713-922-3640. The event is 6p-10p this year. Electricity can be provided if you need it. Please call or e her with all your questions and as info is given to me I will update the HACK! website calendar - the date is Saturday, Dec 9.

For all you Santa art car people out there:
The annual reenactment of Pearl Harbor will be on Thursday, Dec 7. Meet at Warrens at 8p, reenactment at 9p on Market Square.

Re Happy Hour:
We are back at the Dark Horse by request of those who attend our happy hours the most. There is a deck out back for those who don't like the smokey/louder indoor atmosphere. Don't be a stranger!

RE the HACK! website and calendar:
There is a new forum on our website. Please go in, look around, post something! It's set up beautifully and is easy to use! If you see something you'd like added, please email Mike at Mike@blackwidowartcar.com Our calendar is updated regularly. Please refer to it for all our events, outings, parades, etc. If you want something added or you know of someone that wants art cars at their event, please direct them to the website and have them follow the links. USE THIS CALENDAR - IT'S FULL OF VALUABLE INFORMATION..... and Mike and I spend a LOT of time keeping it updated for YOU! :P

Happy Turkey Week everyone!
- Addendum to this email coming as soon as all my mistakes and omissions are brought to my attention. ;)
