Was great to see you after so very long. Seems like forever since we've spent any time together, especially after spending so much time before and during Art Car Weekend this year. So, let's get started. First, I'm sorry these Meeting Minutes took so long to get posted. I had a small accident before the meeting and was late. My head and a railing, my head lost. I am not fine, but will not post any of that here. Just wanted to give my apologies for being late and to say that because I missed you guys so much, there was no way I was going to postpone our meeting. I'd like to have monthly meetings so those who don't find attending Happy Hours each week convenient, can visit and see each other at least once a month. That being said, our next meeting is planned for SATURDAY, JULY 26TH, 5PM, DARK HORSE. The Orange Show Talk Back was scheduled for June 26th, but was rained out. For those of you who would like to see the Talk Back in an air conditioned space, maybe with food and libations, please email your ideas/requests to Wendy@orangeshow.org or Phillip@orangeshow.org. Lindale Park Parade - JULY 4TH : Full up, but if you are interested, please contact Bryan at santaclauscar@yahoo.com as he is the coordinator for this event. I'll be thinking about you all as my plane takes off for Vegas the same time you guys roll. Requests for art cars: A nice discussion was had about requesting art cars for events thru our website or calendar. It was brought up that other than the opportunity for us all to be somewhere together and hang out, there usually are no other incentives, like reimbursement for gas, or food or drink tickets at events where this would apply. Many of us don't live inside the 610 loop so getting to an event, spending the day or evening there, would be more inticing with some sort of incentive. I will be working on our website to incorporate a way for people requesting art cars to contact each of us separately. More to follow about that. Website and requests for art cars: I will be altering the HACK site so that each artist WHO WANTS TO BE PART OF THE REQUESTING PROCESS will have a separate page of information along with 2 pix. If you are interested in being invited to events by the public, please send me 2-3 lines of text with your name, address, phone or email info, web page info if applicable and 2 pix of your car. I will rebuild the Request page of the site so that people can see the cars and invite who they want, instead of a blanket email to the Klub. While these blanket emails are sometimes effective, most of the time we don't attend smaller events in the Houston Metro area. So, send me the info and you will see the site change within the next couple of months. Traders Village: OCTOBER 5th, SUNDAY Again, our annual fund raiser for the Klub. Mike at Trader's Village just loves the annual art car event. It is a great day for us to all be together and hang out. So, mark your calendar and get ready for groveling from Bryan. I noticed that a few of you were missing last year. Please consider coming out and playing again, we miss you when you're not around. Remember, we need 50 cars. 2008 Parade video viewing: No word yet from the Orange Show about when and where this will be, but it's sure to be a party of sorts. Hopefully it will include air conditioning and drink. The City of Houston Channel (Comcast 16) has been editing the video and all entries will be included. We're certainly looking forward to seeing that! New Year's Eve: The only thing I wanted to bring up about NYE is that it falls on a Wednesday this year. Dustin Poe in court: 7/23/2008, 337th Criminal Court, 15th floor, 1201 Franklin. There is ongoing information in the Tom Jones section of the discussion board. Thank you to those who keep us up to date with this information. Weekly Happy Hour: Stays at the Dark Horse. Calendar and Discussion Board: Please use the calendar to add any event you think Klub members might like to attend. This includes, but is not limited to, local live music gigs, birthday parties, TV shows we might be on, etc. Make sure to put contact information with it. If there is no contact info, I will delete it! Red Bull Art of Can Both Kim Ritter and I have pieces that will be on display in the Houston Galleria at the Red Bull Art of Can exhibit. This awesome experience can be viewed online, and it seems to be changing daily, at www.redbullartofcan.com , and in person from July 12-25th. Location is first floor inside the Galleria, outside Neiman Marcus, between Chanel and Tiffany. That's all for now. Great seeing you at the meeting! :) Nicole ![]() ---------------------------------------- -- Posted by, or on behalf of, Nicole Strine.
