Is there anyway to insert a key for specific colors, so that if the background is red then that means its for Girl's Basketball or something in that sense?

Sure. This is easy since you can add custom HTML to your calendar's header and footer (under Options). For example, you could include:

<font color=red>Girl's Basketball events are red</font>. You could also include an image of a small red box or circle as described in our FAQ (under including specific images)
