Marc: I am having a continuing problem with the 'This event repeats' feature when I plan to 'Save as Copy'. For example, I Edit a one-occurrence Event today (which is Thursday) to start next Wednesday, March 4, and repeat weekly until March 25. So on the 'This event repeats' dropdown I select the 'By Day of Week' button, check 'Wednesday' under Select Day(s), and check 'Weekly' under 'Select Frequency'. Then I choose 'Save As Copy' But what I get is the event saved on each Wednesday AND each Thursday!. When I go back and check the Edit, Localendar has added 'Thursday' [which is today] on the 'Select Day(s)' column. If I then uncheck the 'Thursday', and again 'Save as Copy', everything is fine. So for some reason, Localendar is adding today's day of the week to the 'Select Day(s)' column on the 'This event repeats' dropdown when I use the 'Save as Copy' option. Would you check and see if you can repeat this problem? Thanks, Harry |

I couldn't duplicate this.. If you have a single occurrence event, say on Thus, and you open it up for editing and expand the This Event Repeats section (and select By Day of Week) the current event weekday is automatically checked. So in your example below, you did not mention unchecking Thus, and Thus should have been already checked since that was the initial weekday of the single occurrence event. So if you did not uncheck Thus, and checked Wed, that would explain the duplicate occurrences. Please check again. If the description I provided doesn't match your experience, I will be happy to test it again. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

When I expand the This Event Repeats section (and select By Day of Week), NO DAY is checked. Only Weekly is checked. I just now tried it again to be sure. Harry |

Odd.. I just tried again multiple times (for new and existing events) and at least 1 day was always checked automatically. Can I ask what browser/version you are using? Do you see any javascript errors or alerts in your browser status bar (lower left corner typically) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Marc: I normally use Pale Moon 25.2.1 ( a variation of Firefox 24). But today I have tested Firefox 36, Chrome 40, IE 10, and Opera 12. The ONLY one that works as you describe is Chrome. None of the others have any of the weekdays checked. I also don't get any obvious error message, but I am not sure when in the process of testing this I should be looking for one. I run my Premium version on Pale Moon, and my Free version on all the others. If you go to the thread titled 'Problem with Calendar Title Entry' you will see my User Name etc. for both of these accounts. And you have not yet responded to my last post (Feb. 20) on this 'Problem with Calendar Title Entry' thread. Hmm. I used IE 11 and FF 36 (I cant say I've tied Pale Moon but we prob won't specifically test for it). We can try and add some more cross-browser friendly error handling. I'm reasonably sure that the issue is the box is being checked "behind the scenes", the front-end just isn't showing it. Btw, In FF, pressing F12 pulls up a console where you can view any Javascript errors. I don't see any on that page. I'll look for the Feb 20 post (you have so many ) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by support at Mar 6, 2015, 1:58:10 AM] |

Marc:
Well you must have done something. It now works fine on Pale Moon, Firefox 36 & IE10. Still doesn't work on Opera 12--but I no longer use it. Except for Pale Moon, the other browsers are just there to make sure that my webpage does not have compatibility issues.
Sorry I am so stupid. But look at it this way--my stupidity is helping make Localendar more robust for others Harry ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by OPwebmaster at Mar 6, 2015, 5:30:15 PM] |
