Edit this Post   Added an Event but doesn't show up on calendar Reply to this Post

I added an event for 12-25, got an e-mail notification (which by the way would help if a link with "specific" instructions of how to "approve" the event for publication would be helpful) and it didn't show up.

I noticed that when I added the event to begin with I was given the option of marking it Public which I "thought" had something to do with its visibility on the calendar for all viewers but when it didn't show up figured that was because I was supposed to do something to approve it and make it public for viewing by all viewers but since it was already marked public, thought only other option that might be relevant was the publish as local event option. But that didn't make a difference.

So I don't know why it doesn't show up nor precisely what the process is for getting it to publish for public viewing. Please advise.

Is this the "MERRY XMAS PAW PLATOON!" event? It's the on the Public calendar. Be sure to refresh the page, or under IE check to make sure that under Tools->Internet Options->Settings that "Every visit to the page" is selected.

Please refer to other thread by Paw Platoon. But note the exact same problems I have with the Paw Platoon calendar is occurring with a new calendar I created for moejoe_ms (Moe's Calendar). As with the Paw Platoon calendar, the Add Event button does not show up on the calendar so I can not do further testing on this feature. In the absence of resolving these issues and being able to test this tool, it will be difficult for me to choose to upgrade for fear these problems will persist once a financial investment is made. Please help.

I take it the Add Event button is gone because your 30-day trial expired? You can certainly create another temporary calendar (which will have a new 30 day trial) to continue to test this feature.

30 day trial has not yet expired. Also, I just noticed that the bottom (approximately 1 inch) of the calendar when viewed from my web site is simply cut off.

I did create another calendar under moejoe_ms (to eliminate any peculiar issues with this specific calendar and to lengthen my amount of time to trial/test the service) and exactly the same behavior as described below has been happening with that calendar.

Having written the above something just occurred to me and I just went to my web page to take a look at the calendar. Since bottom of calendar was cut off, I surmised that the height as indicated in the code your "Publish" page generates is wrong. So I edited your html code I had added to my web site increasing the height of 600 to 800. Problem solved. That means you guys need to look at your html code generation and adjust the height.

I do find it frustrating that technical support personnel are quick to make judgment calls about what a user is doing rather than taking a closer look at their software. I also find it frustrating that after all this time has elapsed and therefore loss of trial period, I was the one to troubleshoot this and come up with the resolution. Something to think about.

As to any behavior associated with actually adding events and not showing up, now at least I can start testing this with some intensity (lack of an Add Event button which was largely the case) made it impossible to do any real testing on actually using the feature.

Actually, you did exactly what you are supposed to. If you search other messages in this forum, you will also find details for chaning the HTML to add scroll bars. We cannot generate an exact HTML height/width setting that will always work, because it depends on how many events you add to your calendar as well as how the calendar days fall for the month. There is no problem on our side.

As noted above, this issue has been addressed many times in the forums. Here, for example:

http://www.localendar.com/lcf/lcforums/viewthread?thread=32

It's a good idea to search for an issue first instead of assuming you have discovered some unique problem. It can be frustrating for us when the same question is asked over and over, even though there are already posted answers in the form (hint: search for "cut off")
