I am responsible for posting all of the sporting events for a league. This schedule consists of meetings, deadlines, etc. No problem. Categories should handle this fine. Where it gets complicated is for events. Within each division, each event has two teams competing. Each division has events running in parallel the same evening. I want to be able to share out specific event calendars to each team (just for their relevant events). Categorizing by Division would show every team event within the division (too much information for specific teams). If I create a category for each team, then only one team would see the event, not the opposing team within the division. If I duplicate each event (one for each team involved in the event) and categorize for each team, that should work, but, it does not seem like a CSV import supports the category field. ?!? I can't see going back in to 42 events manually to upload each category...which I appears I could not do anyway since the FAQ page states CSV imports cannot be manually edited. On a side note, it also appears the street address is not supported by the CSV import. I'm open to suggestions. |

I guess what I'm really asking about is the possibility of a one-to-many relationship regarding event-to-categories....or the ability to duplicate events within Excel, uniquely identify them by category, export to CSV, and import into localendar....but is there any method to importing data while maintaining unique categorization? |

pscmedia: If I understand your question, the answer is NO. Back in February, I was looking for something similar from Excel, and at that time I found that none of the items listed below could be exported or imported between Excel and Localendar using CSV. I believe it was because Localendar was using the same criteria as what Google Calendar and iCalendar use. I don't know if there have been any changes by Localendar since. 1. all of the default colors for the calendar (Options->Colors) 2. Custom Event Categories (Options->Events{Edit categories}) & their colors 3. Links on specific events to URL's 4. Default Event Type & Default Event Category (Options->Events) Search & other items (Options->General) Harry |

Quick note: We do support importing data into custom categories now. The Event Categories page now displays the Category Id you can use on your import (and the sample.csv file shows where to put it) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
