Is there a way that a non-administrator can correct their own spelling errors, discovered after they posted their new event? Great job so far, thanks so much for the localendar!

No; this would require the admin to go in and correct it. We have thought about given people who add anonymous events a password in case they have to go in and change it.. Of course, if the admin had flagged events as needing approval first, this would most probably have to reset that flag as well.
