It's time I upgradred to the premium version.
I just want to check that it is going to do what I want.

We are running a dive charter business and work with a number of B&B and lodge accomodations. I want to be able to publish my dive calendar and allow the b&b's to publish there bookings so we can book each other with confidance and not have to phone or email each other everytime.

So basically I want to:

Merge multiple members calendars into one (public event)

I want only a few members which I will set up but I want the world to be able to view the merged calendar.

Finally I want general info only available to the world and would like to have details available only to the members.

I want to use the discussion board feature also as a "guest book"
I don't want people to have to sign up to use it. will this work.

I have enjoyed using the calendar so far and look forward to using the advanced features I think it's a cool idea although I am perhaps using it differently than you expected but it looks like it will work and perhaps you should promoite otherw susing it this way.

You can see the attached link to see how I am using it.

Finally on a technical note I have noted that if I want an event to run over multiple days it does not seem to work.
I have to enter it for each day ?

IN ther past I noted the the time of day was not right and I suspected it was based on teh time of day at your timezone not mine, is that correct.

Hmmm... not sure we have everything you want. Let me run through the list.

Merge multiple members calendars into one (public event)

Check. It sounds like you will create 1 main calendar (that's the one that will merge in all the other calendars and will require the premium subscription) and several individual "booking" calendars. Yourself, and each lodge you have create a calendar can add their events there (using their own id/password) and you'll get a single, unified view. Color-coded by sub-calendar, if you like.

This merged calendar will be visible to anyone (by default)

Finally I want general info only available to the world and would like to have details available only to the members.

Ahhh.. the tricky part. We don't have a method for parts of an event to be shown, and parts to be hidden (say, a title that shows "Booked" that anyone can see, but only allowing some people to click the event to view the details)

I want to use the discussion board feature also as a "guest book"
I don't want people to have to sign up to use it. will this work.

Alas, also no. We currently require that an account be created before posting to the forums. Largely, this is a method for preventing abuse/spamming of the system.

Finally on a technical note I have noted that if I want an event to run over multiple days it does not seem to work.

No - you can enter an event and have it repeat. On the Event Editor, click "this event repeats" and set the end date, as well as the dates it reoccurs on. You can do some complicated things here. We need to add a simpler "repeat for the next x days" option though, I admit.

You are also correct about the time of day. Our servers are set on EST. Even if they were set on GMT, you never know where your users are actually viewing your site from. We played around a bit with detecting the user's local timezone and using that to mark 'Today', but had some issues that led to this being rolled back temporarily.
