It would be most helpful if I could include more skip dates on my calendar, since I work a year in advance.

Just for general information, how many skip dates can you have?

Eight; and you can always remove old ones and add new ones.

I have found that when I have an event that repeats for a year and then have more than eight skp dates, the following helps.

I change the repeat until date to end in June. Click on "Save as copy" to create a second occurrence. Change the date to start in July and end in December for the second occurrence.

Now I can have up to eight skip dates in each one for a total of sixteen.

Just my two cents 'til they ad more skip dates.

This is an old thread, but I cannot find a newer one on this subject when I searched.

I find the current limit too low. I would like to see about 20. I have lots of events that are not on regular intervals, such as MWF this week, SSM next week, etc.

Even with the suggestion to cut down the calendar duration via using the 'Save As Copy' option, as noted in another post, it would be much less of a problem to do them all at once.

You said it was a performance issue to increase the number. How much would performance be affected if it was increased to 20?

Since 2019 is the 20th Anniversary of localendar (Feb 11, 1999!!!) it seems like the least we can do is support 20 skip-dates on repeating events :)

Marc:

Thanks. Unfortunately I won't be around for your 50th, to see if you do another increase then biggrin .

You do need to change the Optional note on the Add Event page. It still shows 8.

And while you are solving problems, perhaps you can solve a long standing one I have. I always check the 'Watch this Thread' option, but I have never gotten an Email indicating that there is a new post. Isn't that what that option is supposed to mean? And I can't even find where my Email address is listed. It is not in My Profile.

Thanks - the Event Editor page has been updated.

Regarding the "Watch this thread" topic.. would you mind opening a support ticket? I don't want to share email information back & forth on an open thread.
