Sailing Chavurah Schedule I am using IONOS by 1&1 website builder which has a widget for Localendar. I'm using the Basic version, not premium. The calendar appears very nicely on the Schedule page except that public events I put on the Localendar for May 2019 are not showing up on the website version of the calendar and I don't know why. I have cleared my cache and actually thought I saw them one time but not now. I am using the link to full page view. Thanks. Beverly |

It appears that when the calendar widget was configured, the "Show Past" option was set to "N" to hide events that had already occurred. This is not a widget that was created by us, but there should be able to explicitly set Show Past to Y (or to remove this setting entirely, which will also display past events automatically) If you cannot find this option, you would need to contact IONOS and ask them to update their plugin (Or reach out to us, and we'll tell them the same thing ) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Marc, thank you for your reply and explanation. I will contact IONOS about the widget. |

Hi Marc, I checked the widget settings again and cannot find the option to Show Past Events or remove the setting. I contacted IONOS and this was their reply. Please tell me where to go from here if you can. Thank you. "It's very likely that if the option to see past events is not made a very apparent option in the settings of the widget, it's not something that's included with the functionality of our Localendar widget. However, if Localendar states that they do offer such functionality with their services, an embed code may need to be provided directly by Localendar to show all of the Localendar features that they offer. A custom embed code from a 3rd party can be added by adding an HTML widget from the widgets menu and their code pasted into it. Please keep in mind though that we can not troubleshoot 3rd party code within Ionos. If any alterations need to be made to that custom 3rd party embed code, those would need to be troubleshooted by Localendar. If you would like to continue to use the method of showing a calendar with Localendar and want us to see if the setting is available to show old events, please enter your Localendar details for further troubleshooting. However the same applies, if our widget does not offer that full functionality to show old events, a 3rd party embed code from Localendar may be necessary." |

What a length reply :) Here is what I would write back to them:

Marc - since my last post, I found the Localendar option to "hide past events", under Publish. It has never been checked but past events are currently not showing up on my website version of the calendar. IN FACT, they did show up ONCE after I was playing around on the Localendar site, but now again they are not. I sent IONOS your response and they were going to submit an Improvement Ticket but once I told them that I had found the setting on Localendar AND that suddenly events were showing up, they considered the matter resolved. I'm not going to go back to IONOS because the setting is in Localendar and should be working on my site calendar. I'm baffled as to why they are not. It's not the end of the world, it's just now working the way I believe it should. I have tried other calendar widgets to embed in the site, but Localendar gives me more than all the others combined for the low price of FREE, so I'll just live with no past events unless you can tell me why they are not showing up on the site version of the calendar. |

Marc-when I just posted I did not see your reply with the code and message to IONOS. Beverly |

The reason they do not show up on the site version is because the IONOS code is specifically passing in an override via that data.config.showPast parameter. That is not a setting of ours; it's something they are storing (somewhere!) and adding to the link to your calendar (which they are creating dynamically btw) I would suggest sending them my note. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain :) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Marc, sorry if this is a duplicate message. Past events from 3/27-29 are now showing up again. Here's the page link with the calendar below the events: https://www.sailingchavurah.com/schedule I understand that I should contact IONOS but clearly something else is going on. I think it's best for me to let this go now and I really appreciate you sticking with me. Beverly |

One last post, the past event disappeared again. The technical term for this is "gremlins." |
