According to PayPal localendar has suspended my automatic payment. I'm supposed to "Contact localendar.com for more details or to reactivate your payments." Why has my payment been suspended and what should I do to reinstate my automatic subscription renewal please? This is not the first time that this has happened and it is very embarrassing to try to explain to our committee why, all of a sudden, adverts are appearing on the calendar page. |

For starters, I just extended your existing subscription 30 days to remove ads. Suspending payments is something that Paypal actually does (not us - why wouldn't we want to receive a payment?!) but I hate that they report this to users as if it's some action we have taken. Basically, Paypal will suspend a subscription after 1 failed attempt at renewal. Most commonly, this means the credit card they have on file needs to be updated. It used to be the case that if you updated a credit card on your account, they did not apply the update to existing subscriptions, and you would still get a failure (Annoying, but I guess there were legal issues related to tying a new card to an old agreement) In any event, we have a couple options. You can try updating your credit card info on file at Paypal (if you haven't done so already). If you have, then the easiest solution is to just create a new subscription at localendar.com, which will make Paypal use the correct card (If we go this route, I will have to cancel your existing subscription first, so let me know when you are ready) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Hi, How misleading that PayPal say that Localendar is at fault. I've been in touch with PayPal as they have made my localendar subscription inactive which explains why payment was not made. They say that they cannot reinstate so I think a new subscription may be called for. Can you confirm that the amount will be the same as before and that in starting a new one the user name and password can stay the same. Also that I'll not lose the calendar that is already set up. Please let me know what I need to do next :-) Many thanks for your assistance (maybe you should send a bill to PayPal for having to sort their mess out). |

Your name/password will stay the same and you will not lose any data. Pricing will remain the same. When your subscription expires after 4/23, sign into your calendar and click the "Subscribe Now!" link on the left menu to create a new subscription agreement. Sorry for the inconvenience! We really have no idea why subscriptions go "inactive" sometimes on Paypal and have not been able to get an answer from them :( ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
