Hi dear local calendar team,

We are a non profit organisation, a professional group of event freelancer.
We are using an embed local calendar spreading 5 google calendars.

We often see that events are double, and if we refresh it is ok for some or for all, but it is often double.

Could you help to fix it ? Thank you very much.

We are using wp with divi, the issue is the same what ever is your device or OS

We try and reduce our hits on Google's calendar export by caching retrieved events. If you refresh a page quickly, you may sometimes see a double-hit (this is because Google can sometimes return events in a way that makes them look like they are different than the ones we have already imported)

This is only an issue with Google's iCal feed as far as we have been able to determine.

One workaround is to export Google events to an iCal file, and import that (although you will lose the "live updates"). I am curious if you still see this behaviour if you wait (say 15-30 sec) between refreshing a page where you have imported a Google calendar.

Hi, thank you for your answer.
Before I see it I tried from my side to do some new experimentations with the different embedded options you provide.

The issue occurred with:
- "a fully-interactive embedded javascript calendar"
- "a static (non-interactive) embedded javascript calendar"

But I didn't try successfully "my calendar in a responsive <iframe>" because the heigh was too narrow, like 100 px when I paste it in the web site code module.
Finally I investigated how to solve this heigh issue by adding code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="//localendar.com/js/PublishedResponsiveIframe.js"></script>
<iframe style="width:100%"; id="localendar-iframe" src="//localendar.com/public/Mycalendar?rss_link=N" height=600></iframe>

And... it works: height is ok and more important the issue of google dubbling the events vanished...
Now everything is fine !!

Interesting - thanks for reporting back!
It's possible since you were using one of the javascript-powered publishing styles that some browser-caching could also have been the culprit.

The responsive iframe is our recommended way to Publish these days as it avoids potential javascript and CSS conflicts with the surrounding site. Happy you got it working!
