Help! I have a premium account which is not this one but I cannot reset the password on the premium account so I have set up this account in order to post to the help forums.

With my premium account (which is like this one but without the 2 at the end) when I follow the process for forgotten password ie fill in user name and email address and submit it says it will send me a link to reset the password but I don't receive it. I have checked my spam folder. I have tried this a couple of times. Please could you fix the system for resetting forgotten passwords and/or send me the link to reset my premium account (to the email address associated with the premium ie like the one associated with this one but without the 2 at the end).

My second problem is that when people add events to the calendar using the "add event" button at the bottom of the calendar, it used to email them a link that would enable them to modify the event later (as well as the link coming up on the screen immediately after they post the event). It doesn't seem to do this anymore. Please can this be fixed. Thanks.

On April 28 we migrated localendar to a different host (see announcements section).
As part of this migration (to GoDaddy) we are required to send emails using GoDaddy's SMTP servers instead of using our own (which we did previously). We did test email reminders before the migration and they were/are working correctly

It's possible that some of our members have email settings that automatically treat any mail coming from a GoDaddy host as spam.We have recently received notes from a few members saying they are not getting reminders, and we are investigating.

I will test the two cases you mention and let you know if I can duplicate your issue.

We just retested event reminders and notifications for "visitor-added" calendar events and all emails are going out (and being received) correctly. We will check "password reset" emails shortly.

If you aren't seeing emails *and* they are not in your spam folder, it's possible your ISP is blocking them at a higher level. Can you open a support ticket and share your email address? We will send it some specific emails and see if there is any information in our logs that might also help track this down.

It may be that the two problems have the same root cause - neither the password reset emails nor the visitor-added calendar emails are getting through due to the change to Godaddy's email servers.

Remind me how to open a support ticket. I had a (totally different) problem last year and you didn't receive my emails through the support ticket system and the only way I could communicate initially with you was via these forums. Then I think we ended communicating via your email address.

I will try the support ticket again as it may now work for me if you remind me how it works. I just have a regular gmail address so and the emails are not my spam folder.

I've had to set up another new account as clogevents2 doesn't seem to work any more. I think this is because I haven't been able to validate the email associated with it. The validation emails don't through.

It also means I can't log a problem with a support ticket because this account isn't validated.

No emails at all are coming from Localendar

No validation emails for new accounts
No password reset emails
No calendar visitor emails

The barriers are really up here!

This account will soon become disabled because I haven't been able to validate it either.

It looks like the GoDaddy's SMTP servers may not compatible with gmail. I use gmail and the person who first had trouble with the visitor calendar add also had a gmail account.

If it is not possible to resolve with problem of gmail working with GoDaddy I could use a different email with my premium account but first I need access to it. I am currently locked out!

Please could you email me directly (not via localendar/Godaddy) at clogevents@gmail.com. This is the email address associated with my premium account which should be in your system. We have had a premium account with you for quite a number of years

PS I have managed the log a suppport ticket with the premium account even though I am locked out as I can't reset my password. "Ticket #29011 has been created for your issue" but probably won't receive replies as they won't get through.

I've sent you a note regarding a password reset for your account under my personal email (@localendar.com)

Please let me know if you receive it and can log in

I've replied several times to your email. I don't think you did reset the password of clogevents (my long established premium account). You may have reset for clogevents3 but clogevents3 was just a temporary account set up to communicate on these forums about the problem but it has now been disabled by Localendar because I couldn't validate the email as the localendar validation emails don't get through.

Please could you try resetting the clogevents password again and emailing me on clogevents@gmail.com.

We've been trying several different email accounts to see how widespread the problem is. It seems to affect all gmail accounts as far as we can tell so it may be worth making an announcement about that.

Proton email seems to work with the visitor add calendar events but when I tried to set up an account to communicate on these forums again about the problem the validation email didn't come through. I managed to set up this account with Tutamail and the validation email did get through.

the password for clogevents has been reset to the value I emailed you about previously (outside of GoDaddy). Let me know if you need that email resent

Regarding email sent from GoDaddy->Gmail, we implemented a change which appears to have corrected this issue. I can confirm we tested it with another Gmail user yesterday, and he is not receiving all emails from localendar correctly.
