Edit this Post   Problem w/ Embedded Calendar on MSN Group Site? Reply to this Post

Hello:

I have been trying to add the embedded calendar to our MSN group site -- MSN allows you to create your own page and put in anything you like -- so I post the html code for the embedded calendar.

The calendar does not display, instead, all I get is the following:

<ILAYER src="http://www.localendar.com/public/ArizonaEastValleyMom" height=600 width=700 ></ILAYER> <IFRAME src="http://www.localendar.com/public/ArizonaEastValleyMom" height=600 width=700 marginheight=0 marginwidth=0 scrolling=no frameborder=0 border=0></IFRAME>

I think I see the problem. When I view the source code, it looks as though part of the html code is converting the "<" sign into the special character code <!--&lt (input as a note here so it wouldn't automatically convert back into a "<" sign-->

Is this what's causing the problem, and how can I keep it from happening so my embedded calendar will display correctly?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Claudia

That is what's causing the problem: Somehow the HTML is being converted into plain text when you paste it, instead of remaining in it's native format. I'm not an MSN user, but you need to find out from them how you can paste HTML from the clipboard and not have it get converted to plain text.

When ever you copy from a web site you have the risk of converting to the symbol's code. You might paste the copied area into "NotePad" (a simple text platform); then recopy from NotePad; then pasted it into your web page. The NotePad step will remove formating.
