Hi, I tried adding a picture to my calendar but it is way too big. I did not see a way to make the photo smaller through the calendar program....is there a way or do I have to go back to the original photo and save it at a much smaller size? Thanks

Yes; the pictures are treated as actual size.

If it is being used as the background for your calendar or under the "Add an image to this event" form, you cannot change the size; you will have to alter it through the original software.

If you are inserting the image through the "Insert/edit image" button for the event description, you can alter its size by specifying custom dimensions.
