I've searched high and low in the Forum and can't find an answer... Using the Import/Export features seems to be a way to export an entire calendar into Outlook. I have several Localendars up and running for several clubs in our church. Not every viewer needs to remember every event. But, if let's say, a member of a group wants to send a reminder to his/her Outlook for a particular event he/she is involved with, can that be done? In other words, I would like to be able to have the viewer choose a certain event, open it's detail window and there, be able to send just that event to their Outlook. How can this be done? Thanks! |

And.. it's out there. The Event Detail pop-up (when viewed from a public calendar) contains links to export an event to Google Calendar, Yahoo Calendar, iCalendar, or Outlook. We currently only export the title & time. In a couple of days, we will make a change to export the description for iCalendar and Outlook. Google and Yahoo are set up to accept imported events in a way that has trouble understanding a description (especially a big one, or one with embedded images or HTML). For those calendars, we will export a link to the event. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

The spacing on those pop-out calendar items is off now. There is no space between the description of the event and the re-occuring tagline set for the bottom. It looks like this: Whether you have just started, or are an expert cloth diaper mama, come out to our newest support group. Outlook is there (and spacing before common event description) Bear in mind that while we can get the general text from the event description into Outlook, it will be a little munged as we strip out what irrelevant characters we can. The meat of the description should still be there though. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

I tried exporting to Outlook from 2 computers. On the firs computer, LoCalendar first asked me to import Wyncs - which I did. It still didn't work. I got an error message: "Cannot import vCalendar file. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid." Not sure what to do next. I have Outlook 2000 and am able to do this with Evite (in case that helps you). On the second computer (MS Office Outlook 2007), the import worked and all the details were there, but the event ended up on the wrong date and time. Guess there are a few tweaks left - but it will be wonderful when it is up and running. Thanks bunches! |

Hmm.. my post was regarding exporting from the Event Details pop-up on a published calendar. But your experience leads me to believe you were clicking Export from the Premium menu tab (for the full calendar). Of course, we want that to work, too. Can I ask 2 simple questions: What date range were you exporting from your calendar, and #2, are you using Vista? Here are the answers to your questions. Hope it solves the mystery: Q: What date range were you exporting from your calendar? A: Actually, I was in the View mode, not the Admin mode so there was no date range. I opened up the calendar as if I was a visitor and clicked on a one time event. When the event details popped-up, I clicked on the "Save to Outlook" button. Q: Are you using Vista? A: On the computer where the export worked (MS Office Outlook 2007) but the event ended up on the wrong date and time, YES, that computer has Vista. The other computer where the export did not work at all, is Windows XP 2002. |

Hi Marc, Please refer to the Jan 14 until now posts. I'm still not able to export to my Outlook on one calendar and on the other (Vista) the event still ends up on the wrong date and time and only the event title shows up in Outlook. Have you been able to figure anything out with the answers I gave you on the 24th? |
