I've been using Localendar for a couple of years so I'm intimately familar with how it all works. I've been successfully exporting my calendar data to Outlook 2003 (for XP), but today I tried it and when the export page came up it acted like the Wsync plug-in wasn't installed and prompted me to install it. But no matter what I do, every time I try to install it, it makes the browser hang or crash. Exporting has never worked in Firefox, but up until now it was fine with IE. I'm using IE8.06 (latest) and Windows XP SP3, 32-bit. I've even tried disabling all anti-virus and spyware monitoring software when attempting to install the plug-in but nothing works.

Any suggestions? This is an important feature to me.

Hmmm..

This is unusual. Have you been able to use Wyncs since upgrading to IE8? This shouldnt make any difference, but you can force IE8 into IE7 compatibility mode as mentioned here:

http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/02/26/force-ie8-to-load-and-display-websites-in-ie7-compatibility-view-mode/

You might also want to try uninstalling Wyncs first:

For XP:
Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs
If you can't find it in the list here, then look under

Tools>Manage Addons

in your browser.

As a temporary fix, you can also use the older csv-based export (see the bottom of the export page) method which should import into Outlook as well.

Let us know what happens, and we'll check with the Wyncs authors to see if they have any IE8 issues.
