I can't seem to get this to work by what I assume is supposed to be the normal, easy method when adding an event.

In the description field I enter something like:

See <a href="http://www.somedomain.com/flyers/nameofflyer.jpg">our flyer</a>.

However when I save the event and go look at the event for that date from the calendar, I get:

See http://www.somedomain.com/flyers/nameofflyer.jpg.

When I look at the html behind the description, I see:

See <a href="http://www.somedomain.com/flyers/nameofflyer.jpg"></a>our flyer.

So it appears that on save, something happens to the html. I can edit the html and correct the problem then it works. But I can't expect an end-user to be able to do this. So maybe I'm not using the interface correctly to ensure that the link is coded properly. Can you give me stupid-proof step by step instructions? I want to be able to create this link correctly without problems so that I can instruct an end-user and 'know', the link will work correctly.

And why does the add/edit link button on the edit event page always look disabled and, in fact, can't be used until I've actually manually added my link in the first place? THEN I can highlight the link and click on the add/edit button (although I still get broken results using this button as well).

If you want to enter raw HTML into your event description, you should click the HTML button and enter it on the popup.

For adding a link, the toolbar button is normally disabled until you have some actual text to link on. So if you type "our flyer", you can highlight that text and then click the link button to add the url.
