when I click on the ical button on my calendar dissapears.

That link is to an iCal feed of your calendar. You wouldnt normally click it anymore than you would the RSS image/link.

Those icons are placeholders to make it easy to grab the RSS and iCalendar URLs to put into an RSS Reader (Newsgator, Google Reader) or external calendar program (outlook, Google Calendar), respectively.
