I have seen on some other calendars just a specific event on a certain day and there is no pop up window. I am wanting to put the Indy 500 on May 29 on my calendar. I don't want a popup window. How do you do this? Thanks

This would be an event that just has a title and no description. No description - nothing to pop-up!

Now.. if you've entered "common" event description or location information under Options, there will always be something to pop-up, so you cant have these types of "no pop-up" events under those conditions.
