My localendar is merged with a Google Calendar for my organization. I've noticed that any time we change an event (editing its name or deleting it) that event will "hang around" on the localendar for quite some time.

In the case of an edited event, this can make it seem like there are two events instead of one.

Help?

As noted on the import page:

Note: Merged iCal calendars are only refreshed approximately every 2 hours

You can delete and re-add an imported calendar if you need a more immediate update.

We made this decision based on performance concerns. We also looked around and noticed that sites such as Google frequently didn't update for days which was unacceptable to us.

I had noticed that actually... but it appears that the problem isn't with the 2hr refresh - these posts have been incorrect for nearly a week now.

I'll link both calendars for your convenience:

I'm not seeing any doubled events on your localendar calendar. Was there a particular date I should look at?

Sorry for the delay is response - We were checking into a similar issue with a particular holiday feed from iCalShare that coincidentally had double events.. That one turned out to be a problem with the source feed. So it was a red herring.

Curious to see if your calendar is still having problems.

Thursday Sept 1 is a good example. That item was renamed, and now appears twice on localendar (the old version is the one that starts with FOSA) but only once on Google Cal. The same thing happens on Sunday Aug 28 with Children's Worship - that was renamed, and now appears as two separate items.

Basically, any item I delete or rename in Google Calendar persists indefinitely in localendar. I'd be happy to run you some tests (we took localendar off our main website due to this issue, so I don't mind playing around with it a bit). I have tried unmerging and remerging the Google Calendar with no effect.

Thanks - I'd like to take you up on that offer.

You mention that any item you rename seems to appear twice; this is what I'd like you to try:
Rename an event and merge your Google calendar onto localendar to make sure it appears twice

Export your Google calendar to an ics file, and email it to support@localendar.com. Please make sure to use this subject line, or your mail won't go through:

[Other Problem] Support Form, Case #74235

Thanks!
