I would like to have a full size, interactive calendar on one page of my site, and the today's events and upcoming happenings version of the same calendar on another page. Is this possible, or is only one hosted version (NOT a different calendar, but version) possible at a time? Thanks ,

You can include multiple different view at the same time. See this page as an example:

http://localendar.com/samples/dynamicDemo/

The only limitation is that you can only have 1 of the "fully-interactive, non-iframe" versions of the calendar on the page at the same time.
