How can I set the calendar to a standard size day which would resize any graphics put into it automatically, giving a uniform appearance? For example, making a month a uniform layout?

The calendar will always do it's best to size for the content it contains. For example, if you upload images of different sizes, it will not auto-scale them. For a more uniform size, the best thing is to make the calendar has enough height/width.
