I would like to publish an RSS feed of upcoming events on my web site. However, the event dates are not showing with the events. Instead they are showing as the "posted on" date.

I have a couple of problems with this:

- the "posted on" date in my feed reader (and I think most feed readers) is actually formatted so that it is very subtle, so as not to overshadow the post text, making the event date hard to find

- my general understanding is that the "posted on" date is actually the date the entry was made or changed. For people familiar with RSS feeds, I don't believe they would immediately understand that the date is the date of the event, rather than the date the event information was posted.

- there is a time associated with the "posted on" information. This, for some reason, appears to be one hour after the event starts. It's confusing to have two different times associated with the event.

The only way I can figure is that I need to make the event date part of the event entry, which is kind of a hassle for recurrent events, and looks silly on the main calendar view.

As an alternative, I tried the "Today + Happening Soon" RSS feed. That ended up with no entries at all in the feed (there was no event happening "today" but three events were listed as "Happening Soon".

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
