If you check your calendar, you'll see a test event that I added, updated, and then saved as a copy. We don't change our core JS files often (the last time was 3 years ago actually), but when we do, there is always this situation with a small percentage of users. For most, clearing the cache works fine: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache In some cases, your internet service provider might also be caching the file, and serving a stale copy (there is no easy way to force them to refresh other than wait) If anyone is having this error and can report the javascript error message they receive, it would be interesting to see; but the code is operating normally for the majority of users so it's unlikely there is a bug. http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/javascript/diagnose-javascript-errors ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

I saw the test events you added. I was able to changed details and save. Still cannot update anything I put in previously. I tried to update event on the 6th. Clicked to open event. Clicked on 'save as copy'. had javescript debugger open. got the following message at line 708. don't know if this means anything. Unable to get property 'value' of undefined or null reference ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by sgiojokai at Jun 13, 2015, 3:56:29 AM] |

Marc - From what I could see in the javascript, it looks like at line 708 it's trying to verify or check a twitter link. So I established a link to my twitter account AND low and behold, I was then able to update several times the event on June 6th.. But I don't really want the link active to my twitter account.. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by sgiojokai at Jun 13, 2015, 4:08:07 AM] |

If anyone else is having this issue, I'd like to suggest hitting https://www.localendar.com (our SSL page) instead of http://www.localendar.com, since that will prevent an ISP from serving old files. I'll pass along the Twitter issue to see if there is anything there. You *should not* have to associate your Twitter account with localendar. That is optional. You can unlink your account directly from your Twitter settings. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by support at Jun 15, 2015, 1:09:32 AM] |

I tried both ways and still notice the same behavior when trying to update a newly created event. I think the problem may be related to the Publish as Local Event checkbox. I found that if I uncheck the box, it allows me to go back and update the event I just created. If I leave it checked off, it does not work.

That is a useful discovery; there is an internal check for zipcode (which we no longer use) which may have been called in some cases. You should be able to click that checkbox (and update/save as) now ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
