We are currently unable to export the description because of some issues properly handling HTML that may be included.. but I think we have a fix pending for that (keep in mind, we rushed this out the door just for you wink )

As to the incorrect dates, etc. .. what would be helpful would be if you *saved* the .ics file locally (rather than opening it), and then opened it up with notepad and pasted the contents here. Please also include what the correct date/time *should* be so I can compare them.

I think this is where I need to post. I am new to localendar and trying to get it up and running for our site. I am testing both IE & Firefox. I have entered events in the calendar. I logout and view the calendar as a user would. I click the event to open the detail window. I see the option to Save To Google, iCalendar, Outlook, and Yahoo. However, when I click Outlook, I get an error message. It says, "cannot import vCalendar file." Google and Yahoo work just fine. I know users are going to want Outlook as many of our emails are through Outlook. Any ideas. What other information can I supply to help out? Thank you!

What version of outlook are you running? Different versions are more/less friendly to the vcalendar format.

Also, can you tell me the date/title of the event on your calendar you were trying to export?

Hello

I am using Outlook 2003.

The date/title of the Event is April 16, 2009. The WorkSafeMT Safety Committee Meeting. I have tried other Events I always get the same error message.

Thank you!

I'll have a look at the event and see if Outlook 2007 can handle it. I know vCalendar support is spotty in Outlook 2003.

Hi again Marc,

Well, since I last posted on this issue, I got a new version of Outlook. I can now click on the Outlook icon in an event detail box and OPEN the event in my Outlook! Yeah!

Trouble is, the event has no details (so I cut and paste them in from the Localendar detail box) and it ALWAYS saves the event on today's date rather than the correct date and time of the event. Then I have to open the event in my Outlook and move it to the correct date and time.

Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

Can you give me the time date and title of the event in question?

I'll take a look at the Outlook export file that is being generated

It doesn't matter what event I click on. When I click on the "Outlook" icon in the description box and "Open" it, the event is automatically saved to today's date - not on the correct date.

I then copy the details from the LoCalendar detail box into the open Outlook entry. Should that be automatic or does the detail not carry over?

I believe we just brought the titles over right now b/c the event detail can have a ton of HTML that many desktop calendar programs have trouble understanding.

I'm actually on vacation right now, but I'll ask for some more info when I get back :-)

Have a nice vacation and please get back to me on the dates issue. I can deal with the details but the event does need to end up on the right date. Thanks!
