Hi,
I just signed up for your service and I like its features and how it posts. I was wondering if there is an option that allows the visitor to have a list of events on one page, even though they may not occur during the same month, like an Agenda layout.

Thanks

We do have the "Today+Happening Soon" view style:
http://www.localendar.com/public/LAHC?style=D2

You can configure the look-ahead period up to 60 days, as well as other features and labels.

Click Options->General and then click the Show More>> near the bottom of that tab to reveal all the settings for this style.

Sorry, I had hoped localendar would work for me, but this is a deal-breaker. What possible rationale can there be for limiting display to 60 days?

I'm a performing musician. I want to display on my website a simple list of upcoming gigs. Sometimes I'm busy, with gigs every week. Sometimes I might not be booked at all for a month or so. Someone looking at my site and seeing no gigs listed because the next one is 2 months from now will think I've retired. Regardless, I need my fans to see upcoming events for AT LEAST the next 6 months or so. Preferably it should list ALL upcoming events.

Thanks, localendar looks like a great product, and if it could do this I'd be sticking around. Anybody here know of a similar product that'll do what I want?

Kyle:

I do the website for a large park, and I used to create a special Excel spreadsheet. That provides maximum flexibility that no commercial calendar can duplicate, and might work in your case.

Here is an old example:
http://www.archive.ottawapark.org/mobile-calendar-ottawa-park-toledo.html

Just create a spreadsheet, copy it as a .jpg file, and paste in into your webpage.

But I abandoned that method after a couple of years for Localendar. Localendar has a lot more capability and does not require me to update my complete website every time I add or subtract an event.

Did you look at the Monthly List view? It only displays days that have events on them, so if you only have one event, say on June 3, it will only display June 3. Then You could add something like this to the Calendar header: "See all my bookings through November, 2015". The user would then have to click on each month to see what is or is not happening in that month.

Or you might ask Marc if the user can adjust with code the look-ahead period for Today + Happening Soon?

Performance! If we made it 120 days, someone would undoubtedly ask, "why won't localendar let me look ahead a year?"

With the zillions of calendars we serve, we have to set some limits. It takes time to perform all the various date arithmetic. In the case of one-off performances, it's not a big deal, but when you look at all the recurrence functionality we offer, that's a lot of math for all our members and their traffic.

That said, we have actually had an open issue for "Year View" which we have been working on. The challenge is twofold: Performance, and a viable display format. Once the former issue is solved, we will mostly likely increase the look-ahead period on the increasingly more inappropriately named "Happening Soon" view.
