I am having a problem with what appears in the Calendar Title line [Options->General tab] when I log into My Calendar.

When I first set up my account I gave the Calendar a title of 'XXX'. Then I later made several changes to items on the General tab, including changing the Calendar Title to 'YYY'. Now EVERY time I log into My Calendar, The Calendar Title [Options->General tab] displays 'XXX'. I have to Refresh the page to get it to display 'YYY'. ALL of the other entries on the General tab are always up to date, and do not need a Refresh.

When I started with Localendar, I used the Free version for a week or so, and then upgraded to the Premium version.

I mention that because now I have added a Free version to do testing--with it's own distinct Email address, Member Name, and Password. When I open the new Free version of My Calendar [Options->General tab] I get the SAME Calendar Title of 'XXX" that I get when I open the Premium version! Again, I have to Refresh to get the correct one. And like the Premium version, All of the other entries on the General tab are up to date, and do not need a Refresh. I have cleared out my cache web content folder, but of no benefit. I tried opening the Free version on a different browser, but the same problem occurs.

This is quite frustrating. If I miss a Refresh and make a change on the General tab and Save it, my published Calendar has the wrong title.

1. Why does the Calendar Title entry not retain the latest change, like all the other entries on the General tab?
2. Why does my Free version also pick up the initial Calendar Title ['XXX'] from my Premium Version?

Thanks as always for any help,

Harry

Marc:

This is one of the very last problems I am having--you have solved all the others.

Could you take a look at this, please? It is so easy to screw up my Localendar page by not remembering to Refresh first.

Can you tell me the 2 member names you created, and if you wouldn't mind the specific XXX and YYY text you are seeing? (If you don't want to post this on the forums, you can open a support ticket)

The first thing would just be for me to confirm that the actual text on the database is what you believe it should be... and of course to try and duplicate the problem.

Premium Account:
Member Name: OPwebmaster
XXX: OPwebmaster
YYY: Event Activities - by Venue {I have used several, but this is the current one}

Free Account:
Member Name: HMWLoTest1
XXX: OPwebmaster
YYY: HMWlotest1-for testing only
Go to Home
{I have used several, but this is the current one, so I could test putting a link to my website on the 2nd line of the Calendar Title}

Also, and I am not sure if anything can be done about this, how to I open a login screen for my Free account so the Member Sign-on screen does not have my Premium account Sign on ID (OPwebmaster) and Password already filled in instead of the Free account information? I use different browsers for each account.

If you need anything else, let me know. As I said, it is so easy to forget to Refresh, and then I am in trouble.

I can't duplicate your issue, and I wonder if the browser itself is auto-completing the Title field based on your initial change.

You might check to see if you have "autocomplete" turned off in your browser.

We added "autocomplete="off"" to the Title and Footer field, which *might* correct the problem if your browser follows those instructions (many do not)

And if that did work.. we aren't planning on adding it to all the fields on localendar, which means you should still turn autocomplete off on your side.

Waiting to hear how you make out...

Marc:

Neither adding autocompete="off" to the end of each line, or following Firefox's instructions on how to disable autofill for forms and Cleared All my History from Everything made any difference.

But in going through all this, I think I found the problem. I use a password manager - KeePass. Somehow it was causing the problem with always opening with the XXX information on both Pale Moon & Firefox. Every time I would fix the problem and try to Update the Options page, I would get this message: "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier" and I would click Resend, which would again display the XXX information.

Removing Localendar from the KeePass database solved the problem!

But now I have to remember the password! On the Member Sign-On screen, I tried checking the 'Remember my ID and Password' feature, but that does not seem to work--at least for me, and I have Pale Moon remembering all the search and form history. Is there another setting somewhere so 'Remember my ID and Password' will work?

Well, I'm happy you figured the title issue out - that was really perplexing.

Let me test the pw cookie and see if it works for me.. yup.
I wonder if keypass somehow changes the browser setting so our code doesn't work (it sort of makes sense, since they want to be your exclusive pw manager)

Is there any chance you can test from a computer that doesn't have keypass installed?

Marc:

This is very frustrating.

First, there are at least three places one can log in to Localendar and can check to remember the ID and password:
www.localendar.com
www.localendar.com/lcf/lcforums/login
http://www.localendar.com/lcf/lcforums/listforums?c=9

Ignore for a minute the issue I am having.
The first of the above, once I log in, gets me to My Calendar. If I then choose Support Forum, I must login again.
The second takes me to a 'oops' page, with a link if I want to go to the localendar forums.
The third, which I normally use, seems to work fine, except there is an extra step to get to the page which shows the Member sign-on screen.

So which of the three are you using?

If I use my XP computer, which is running on PaleMoon an add-on called Secure Login', after I check the 'Remember ID' and click 'Log In' I get a box asking if I want to save my password. Is this a box from Localendar, or Secure Login, or someplace else? I said yes, and now when I type in my Sign on ID, the Password pops up automatically.

On my Win 7 laptop, I have both KeePass & Secure Login installed in Firefox/Pale Moon, but they are BOTH disabled. Localendar's 'Remember my ID' does NOT work.
On the laptop, if I use IE9, I get an IE message asking if I want IE to save my password. I check yes, but after I reopen IE, nothing has been remembered.

So when I check the Localendar box to remember my ID and password, is Localendar supposed to remember this information, or is my browser, or???

On any of my three computers, if I open www.localendar.com, login there and check the Remember Me box, then after I log out, I close my browser, open it again, and type in www.localendar com, My Calendar immediately opens: no Member Sign-On page appears. If however, after I log out of Localendar, I then try to log in again without closing the browser, nothing is remembered.

As I said, this is all very strange and confusing to me. Hopefully you can add some insight.

Harry

Probably from your browser. localendar never pops-up a window asking if you would like your password saved

This is also IEs message. Note that in the case of these browser "Do you want your password remembered" dialogs, that usually only means the browser will auto-fill your password. It does not mean that you'll bypass the login screen.

So when I check the Localendar box to remember my ID and password, is Localendar supposed to remember this information, or is my browser, or???

When you check the box, localendar should remember and bypass the homepage on your next visit (unless you log out, as you mention below...)

If you click the "Logout" button, we will always clear the cookie. We have to give members some way to change accounts if they've clicked "remember me". So if you want to be auto-logged in next time, don't click the log out button. Just close your localendar tab.

Is not working that way for me.

If I log in through www.localendar.com, select 'Remember Me', close via the Tab, close my browser, open my browser, and reenter www.localendar.com, it works as you say by again taking me to My Calendar page. BUT as soon as I then click on Support Forums, I have to log in.

If I log in through http://www.localendar.com/lcf/lcforums/listforums?c=9, which is what I normally do, select 'Remember ID', close via the Tab, close my browser, open my browser, and reenter http://www.localendar.com/lcf/lcforums/listforums?c=9, I get the log in screen.

If I NEVER close my browser, http://www.localendar.com/lcf/lcforums/listforums?c=9 works just as you say it should. So my browser must be having some effect. It is set to accept and retain cookies from sites, and keep them until they expire. But if I understand you, Localendar is not setting cookies on my computer.

So what else might be causing this problem?
