On my calendar the events are listed as an all day event, and I just post them in order of their occurrence. (it is run for a church) for example 9-10:15 services, under that should be the 10:45 - noon services, and then any evening activities. (I liked the layout better for keeping them as all day events instead of using the built in timing settings. ) All of my events are moved into a different order, and when I try to change the title of the event, it doesn't save it to the same location. Any solutions that don't involve me starting over completely would be awesome. |

I am having this same issue and it wasn't like that when I first starting using localendar. Now it seems that events that don't have a "time" are in alphabetical order instead of the order I put them in. I don't like that at all |

It's correct that we did make this change recently in response to user feedback. We thought alphabetical order made more sense then the entry order. Annnd now we see some of you liked the old way (darn) We'll revert this to the previous functionality immediately. For those who prefer the alpha-sort, we'll look into making this a preference. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Was there an update to this? i.e., How can I control the order of multiple all-day events within the same day? |

The order of all-day events remains entry order (per my previous post in this thread) What type of order are you suggesting? Alphabetical or "arbitrary"? If "arbitrary", do you have some thought about how you would like the manual ordering of events to work? ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Is there any way to give us the ability to rearrange the order after they have been added? We have a lot of events at the church that I'm finishing up a website for and many of them are recurring monthly/yearly events. Then when we put in the new events they end up in the wrong order of what is requested by the client. Would love to be able to give events a manually set order, maybe the ability to enter a number to tell it which order to be in? Such as some days have 5 or more events, maybe have it number them 1-6 or something and give us the ability to change those numbers? Not sure what else you can do on it, but it sure would be helpful when you cannot control what events go in what order due to items that have been pre-entered due to repeatable events. |

So, this gets asked for rarely, but occasionally. The challenge is, how can we make this possible without adding a level of complexity that most users don't want to see? Here's a little "hack" we've slipped in. It might solve this problem.. or we might have to take it away. But let's see what you think: First, I assume that you are referring to ordering All Day events. Because all other events are sorted by their calendar start time. If that is the case, read on... Open or create your new All Day event. The event Start Time can now be used to secretly set the event order. For example, if you have 3 events, you can order them by setting the start time to 1AM, 2AM and 3AM (or 1:05, 1:10, 1:20..) Of course, when you enter a start time for an All Day event, the radio button for All Day event will automatically get set next to the Start Time. You have to remember to click back on All Day event before clicking Save or Update You should be able to re-order events using this secret feature.
